Update on my stitching

Oh dear Christmas is coming so there has been a little flurry of Christmas stitching happening. I have even been enjoying a little cross stitch. The little reindeers became these little decorations.
I am still up to date with my Splendid Sampler blocks.

Last week, I did make up one more Story of my Day blocks. I will try to make up one each week!

Lovely stitching

Great to see Lynn back at class. She has been so busy while she has been away. She has been enjoying lots of lovely cross stitch and blackwork.

We all loved this special canvas work decoration.

She has also created these great tablet bags for a friend. Lynn has used lovely fabrics and these will be so useful.

Lovely get together

On Saturday we headed to Camden for an extended family lunch. It was so special to catch up with all of these lovely people. Thanks to Neryl and Rod for hosting such a lovely time and for everyone for their delicious food. The Goss family certainly know how to party. Great to see Uncle Alan especially as he is nearly 93.

Still stitching...

All that travelling on the weekend meant that there was a bit of good stitching time. It amazes me how long it takes to stitch things when you are aware of the hours flying by! I made a bit of progress on block 8 of Foxley Village.
I have wanted to do this little "blackwork" from one of our stitching days and enjoyed stitching it.
These little fellows were in the latest Family Circle magazine (which has lots of nice things in it). I am going to make some little decorations with them.
Last week I also caught up my Splendid Sampler blocks!

These stitcheries are all done for the Story of my day so I managed to sew 2 more blocks together.

On Monday, I found the time to stitch together this cute little bag/container by Anni Downs. It is so cute and handy.
I was very naughty yesterday and ordered the latest gorgeous BOM by Anni Downs. I just couldn't resist.

A weekend away

We enjoyed a weekend away in Rutherglen, Corowa and Echuca. They were lovely towns to explore. We had delicious pies in Rutherglen for lunch and then visited a couple of wineries nearby. We ate a wonderful dinner too at the Italian restaurant in Corowa!
On Saturday we headed to Echuca and wandered around the town. Luckily they have a Beechworth bakery there and they have beestings!
In the afternoon we walked from Moama, where we were staying, across the old iron bridge to Echuca.

We booked a steam paddle boat ride on Sunday morning and even in the rain, it was a lovely experience. We were lucky and rode on the Adelaide, which is the oldest steam paddle boat in the world! It is 150 years old. We also saw the boat that was used in the series, All the rivers run, which really put Echuca on the map in the 1980s. I loved that series!

Catching up...

We have been busy here at home as some renovations have been happening. We have replaced the lounge room carpet and some of the slate with a floating laminate floor! I am still cleaning up the dust from when the slate was removed a few weeks ago. I think the new floor will be very good and should be easy to clean especially when the little people come! It has taken ages to put all my clutter back and that is still not all done.

I have been doing a bit of stitching. I started this at Millrose a few weeks ago and have enjoyed stitching all the bits and pieces on this sewing basket. The pattern is one of Anni Downs'.

I have continued to work on my Splendid Sampler blocks and I am now up to date. I have just printed number 76.

Yesterday I had a chance to piece the blocks for this block of Foxley Village.
