I forgot the food....

I completely forgot to mention all the lovely food we enjoyed at Urban stitches. We were at the Novatel and lunch was delicious. There were yummy salads and hot dishes but the desserts were amazing! What a shame you can't taste each one!

Last week, little Audrey came to stitching. She comes most weeks and it is so lovely to see her growing and changing. We just loved seeing the little dress that Mummy appliqued for her!
Aunty Paddy can't resist giving her lots of cuddles!
There is a chance that our little grandbabies might be coming home on Sunday! How very exciting.

Last pictures of Urban stitches

Here are a few more pictures of our day at Urban stitches. We enjoyed the day of stitching with these lovely ladies. It was great getting to know you.

Melly, Rosalie and Leanne tried to get round to visit each table. Here we are with Leanne.
There was so much to see but the Show and tell was a highlight. This lovely stitchery was one of last years' projects by Leanne. It has been done in slightly softer colours. I bought a kit with the original threads but might be tempted to stitch in these ones.....they do look like me!
Here are just a few of the gorgeous quilts that were shown.
This quilt was wonderful. The little pieces were only 1/2" squares!
The same lady also make this hexagon quilt using 1/2" papers. Absolutely amazing.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing the Vignette quilt in real life! Leanne had it with her and we were able to see the quilt so far! I have 3 sides done and have just started piecing the middle. It was motivating to see it.
Just to prove that the little fellows are growing! Here they are and we were able to have a little cuddle. They are still in hospital but might be out next week. This is Ben with me.
Lyndal is feeding little Sammy his vitamins.

A bit more of Urban stitches

Just home from my class Hobbysew. So nice to catch up again with all the ladies after a break over the school holidays. I took so many pictures as there was so much to see at Urban stitches. Each of the designers has their beautiful samples on display. They were very inspiring. These are some of Leanne's samples.
 These lovely creatures are Melly's.
It was also lovely to see Rosalie's many samples.

This new BOM by Rosalie is really lovely and I think I may have to get it but promise not to start till my others are done....or at least most of them! The blocks are screen printed on linen so that makes it nice and easy to just pick up and stitch.

This is the hexagon quilt that Leanne had in the Vignette magazine. There were quilts all around the room and they were so lovely to see!

Urban Stitches 2012

Fiona and I had a wonderful time away in Melbourne to attend Urban Stitches with Melly, Rosalie and Leanne. It was such a special time. There were over 100 ladies there on Saturday and there was so much chatting and laughing all day. We flew down on Friday morning and enjoyed some champagne and a delicious tasting platter for lunch. We also managed a little shopping.

We even has some stitching time in our room in the afternoon before finding a restaurant....there are so many to choose from in this area....for dinner. On Saturday we were welcomed with a lovely orange bag full of patterns and kits.
The kits were for these lovely projects. Rosalie's was this pin cushion, bag and scissor keeper.
 Melly had created this bag.
Leanne had made some lovely doilies.
The kits included all the Cosmo threads needed, the stitching fabric and fabric to complete the project. There were also some scissors, some fabric and needles too.
Leanne had hand written all the name tags.
 I made a start on Rosalie's project.
 Here we are busy stitching.
Here are our busy teachers, Melly, Leanne and Rosalie.
I took lots of pictures so will have to do another post soon.

Off to Melbourne tomorrow

Fiona and I are heading to Melbourne tomorrow to go to Urban stitching with Leanne Beasley, Rosalie Quinlan and Melly. Can't wait for a lovely day of stitching and sharing on Saturday with these lovely teachers. There might be some lemon tart, some shopping and lots of chatting tomorrow too! Best get packing!
We were so lucky to get a little (against the rules) cuddle with Ben and Sam last night. That's my arm holding little sleeping Ben. They are doing so well.

Here is little Sam. They are just such tiny little precious boys.

I completely forgot to show some lovely stitching that Barb had finished a few weeks ago. She has done a wonderful job on her floral runner.
She had also sewn up her Noah's ark cushion. Well done, Barb.

Stitching....

I should be working on the baby quilts but need to cut and sew so have been procrastinating. I so wanted to have a go at this little turtle from Anni Downs' new book. I spent some time last Tuesday at work making up some little kits of these! I bought my kit at the craft show so I ignored all my ongoing projects and working on the turtle pincushion instead! It was fun to do some more English paper piecing.

I have been continuing my SKOW blocks. Did some prep last week.

And as it is all hand sewing, it was lovely to work on these three blocks for July.
