Sydney and the Quilt show

Paddy and I headed to Sydney on the bus on Wednesday for our visit to the Sydney Craft show. After we checked into our apartment and had some lunch we headed to the Queen Victoria Building for a wander around. We also made sure we visited Morris and Sons, which is a lovely shop with gorgeous wool!

After just a few purchases there we headed back to the QVB and had afternoon tea.

Thursday was the highlight as we walked to Darling Harbour for the Craft show. We enjoyed the day of shopping and also enjoyed seeing the quilts. It was a good show and we did manage to find quite a few things to buy. The only downside was the long queues for coffee! Hopefully they might address that problem next time. We enjoyed visiting Anni Downs' stall and BeBe Bold especially.
I did take some pictures of the quilts. Hope you enjoy them.

This mini was made with beautifully, fussy cut 1/4" hexagons!

This is Helen Godden's amazing quilt with its blue first place ribbon.

Lastly here is the shopping. I did buy a bit of wool this time both at the show and from Morris and Sons, and some more patterns and fabric too!!!! I just couldn't resist!.

Alice is 3!

Last week saw a couple of celebrations for little Miss Alice who turned 3! She enjoyed all the partying very much. We had a little family celebration on her actual birthday and then a party later with family and some little friends.

Jack and the big boys enjoyed the party too.

Vivid Sydney

We headed to Sydney last weekend to visit Ma and also to go into the city to see the Vivid lights in Sydney. We had booked a harbour cruise with dinner (eaten on our laps so not a flash one!) and it was fun to be in Sydney with all the other people! There was a bit of waiting around but we thought it was worth the effort.

Stitching and knitting..

Winter is certainly here! The last two days have been very cool here and the sun has taken a while to come out. Excellent knitting weather! I knitted this shawl with my beautiful Debbi Bliss wool that I received for my birthday. I used a free pattern on Ravelry called Azzu's Shawl though did make it larger. The wool is so soft and warm.
I just loved stitching this latest part of Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs and did another block of United stitching too.

Lovely to see what the class ladies have been making. Paddy is making a gorgeous bag by Anni Downs. This cute bunny will be on the front.
Lynne has been very busy too making this delightful zippered pouch and the bags below! What a wonderful collection of bags you must have, Lynne.

Jayne has been very busy foundation piecing her little houses for the latest button club by Lynette Anserson, Seaside Town.
