Some finishes..and a gift

Lovely to see Jayne's lovely bag all finished last Wednesday. This is one of Fiona's patterns and I am sure Jayne was only cutting out felt pieces last week! I do love the blue hanky linen that Jayne has used for the background.
Anita also came into class with her Marg Low mat all finished. Looks beautiful.
I had a full day at home last Tuesday and managed to head into the sewing room. So worthwhile as I sewed together this little bag. It was a lovely Shepherds bush pattern and I had a kit.
I also sewed my Anni Downs purse together as well.
My other Tuesday achievement was to add the buttons to this little cardigan for Miss Alice.
So special to catch up with Penny and John from the UK last week and Penny brought me the little house on the right! I love and collect little houses. We think it is the Bridge house which you can see in Ableside in the Lake District. The little one beside it is from Cornwall. The third one was a gift from a friend who went to Africa.

Great work...and the grandies

Lynda brought in some of her lovely work to share with us last week. She finished her zippered pouch and it looks great.
She also started stitching these cute little snowmen for a friend who loves the snow.
Lynne has also finished another beautiful cross stitch. Isn't it gorgeous.
Meanwhile, I am still enjoying the stitcheries from The Simple Life book. They are a bit addictive.
I haven't shown the grandies for a while! They are all such fun and are all changing so much. Here are a few recent snaps.

Stitching...

Last week Jayne brought in her lovely stitching bag all finished. This is a very old pattern of mine. I just love Jayne's choice of colours!

Meanwhile, I have been busy stitching more of these lovely blocks from The Sumple Life book by Anni Downs. My 10 minutes in the sewing room has been spent tracing and fusing. Must get back to the machine!

Lovely weekend away

Last weekend I was at Hyams Beach for our annual ladies retreat. It was great fun with perfect weather (even a bit hot), a gorgeous beach and delicious food too. I even went for swims each day .....which is quite unusual for me. The water was just so clear and the sand is so white and fine.

This is the house where we stayed. There was a hill up from the beach and many stairs! But the view was lovely.

Brenda made this amazing cheesecake for our dessert!

Enlighten and Sydney

Just thought I would share these great pictures of Enlighten in Canberra. I must admit I didn't go and didn't take the pictures but thought they were worth sharing.

A few of us headed to Sydney on Friday for the Rose Hill Craft show. I must admit it was very small and a little disappointing but we still had a lovely day out (even after a 5am start). I didn't take many photos but enjoyed seeing these quilts on display and it was nice to see Prudence there with all her lovely wools. I managed to buy a few useful notions and a little fabric.
