Carols and stitching..

There have been a few parties lately but sadly not too many reasonable photos. We had a lovely evening at Hobbysew recently which was beautifuly catered and there was lovely show and tell and great specials. We also had the pleasure of going to a carols concert at the big boys' school. They had a couple of little songs to sing and Pa got sone good photos of them. Little Jack enjoyed it too.

The big boys needed Christmas shirts so they have reindeer ones this year. Of course Jack and Alice needed some too.

My only other stitching has been part 11 of Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs. I do love stitching these blocks.

Jack turns 2

Out littlest man turned two last week. How those 2 years have flown. He is such a lovely, happy boy who thinks he can do everything his big brothers can do! We celebrated with a little family party and then he had a Curious George party with some of his little friends and their families. His eyes are definitely focussed on the chocolate in the centre of the cupcake!

It was a good chance to take a couple of family photos.

Lovely stitching...

We enjoyed seeing the show and tell at class this week. So much lovely work that makes me want to pelt home to sew! Roni finished her gorgeous boro purse kit and it looks great.

Lynne is amazing with how many things she achieves. We all loved this little hanging with baskets in a red, black and white theme.
We also wanted to steal these little baskets! Lynne made them bigger than the originals and they are just great for holding lots of chocolates. Lynne even brought some choccies in one for us to share.

We also loved these cross stitches. Lynne is going to make them into a large folder to hold her "works in progress".

Lynda has also been busy....still making wonderful things for her new grandchild to be. This lovely quilt is so soft and cosy as it is made in flannel with minky appliques.
I have still been stitching a few Secret Santa gifts but in between I have been working on an old UFO. This bunting is a Rosalie Dekker design and when I started years ago, I didn't like how the white stitching looks is not as forgiving as a darker colour. I just decided that I was pushing on regardless and am pleased now with the result. Just don't look too close!

Busy times

Where have the last few weeks gone. Quite a few hours were lost (or well used) as the house was decorated! It is very time consuming but it is always lovely to see the decorations in place. It was lovely to remember when things were made or bought or who gave them to me. My only other excuse for lack of blogging was that there have been a few parties too. Sadly I didn't take too many photos but I can assure you that they were fun and much good food was consumed! This week we celebrated with the Wednesday morning ladies at Adrienne's place. It was so beautifully decorated! My photos aren't wonderful but will give you an idea.

A few of the Friday night stitchers met for high tea on the weekend which was fun. I received this wonderful Secret Santa gift from Audrey. Thanks Audrey, I love them all.

I stitched this little cushion for my gift. This is a stitchery based on an old Anni Downs' panel. I did these a few years ago and just felt like making some more.
And, just a glimpse of the decorating. I love hanging some of my favourite decorations on this wire tree each year.

There has been a little Christmas creating happening here. Some of it is for gifts so I will show those later on. My class ladies have been busy too making beautiful things. Jayne is such a good needle turner who loves using the Lynette Anderson tools. These little appliques on this wonderful ipad case, designed by Anni Downs, look fantastic. I have this kit too and will enjoy making it....after Christmas perhaps.
Marlene has been busy too and has finished her lovely Anni Downs' pencil case.
Margaret has had fun making this lovely hanging from a Nancy Halverson book. I have this one and it is one of my favourite decorations.
I have been stitching too. Here is block 10 of Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs.
I also enjoyed making up this little zippered pouch for a gift. It is also an Anni Downs pattern.
I had some fun and a little difficulty knitting this little bauble using 4 double pointed needles instead of 5. I have bought a new set so will have another go soon. It is from an amazing book by Arne and Carlos, called 55 Christmas Balls to knit.
