Christmas party and sewing

Hobbysew had their Christmas gathering last Friday and it was fun to catch up with the customers, eat some yummy food and enjoy some specials. There was also a wall of lovely sewing to vote on as well.

Terrie brought along her gorgeous advent calendat!
On Wednesday, the ladies had lots of wonderful finished projects to share. Beth had made her little snowman deocration from a Marg Low pattern.
She has also finished her Santa bag from the stitching day.
Barbara has been very busy making some Christmas gifts. These hand towels will be much appreciated, I am sure.

Heidi has made this wonderful cushion. It is foundation pieced and looks fabulous.
We have been lucky to have Natalie's mum, Allyson, visiting us at class for the last few weeks. She made this wonderful hanging for Natalie.
I have spent the last week decorating but still managed a little stitching. This stitchery was already done and sitting waiting to be made up! Here it is hanging! It is a Rosalie Dekker design.
My decorations for this week are these 2 little knitted stockings! They are a little fiddly but good fun to make using the free pattern by Julie at Little Cotton Rabbits.
The rest of the time has been spent decorating! I think I have TOO many decorations!

Little people

Just realised that I hadn't shared the little people for a while. They are all growing and changing so much. Little Alice is walking everywhere and is even trying to run! Hubby tried hard to get these 2 little men to smile and sit still at the same time!

More lovely stitching

Wednesday saw more wonderful show and tell. Karen has finished her gorgeous Birdsville quilt. This is a Wendy Williams' design.
In the evening I was so inspired but the girls' lovely finishes. Barbara has made this great cushion. We all put in an order for one! Ha ha!
Natalie has been working so hard on this amazing candlewicked cushion and has finished!

Margaret is still making great projects using the lovely Anni Downs panel. Not a scrap is being wasted! She is using the leftover bits on teatowels and hand towels!

Stitching

There was so much lovely show and tell at social stitching at the shop today! Lynne has been so busy and has made two of the Hugs and Kisses hexi patterns. Both look fantastic!

Lynne also finished her canvas work from the stitching day recently.
Barb was busy making some lovely crocheted stars. Makes my fingers itch to crochet!
Colleen has finished her Santa stitchery from the stitching day and has made it into a hanging. Looks great Colleen.
I have been stitching too. On the weekend I managed to piece together the next 2 blocks of Scandinavian Rose. Works quite well to do some each month.
I also had fun with the little decoration for this week. I had this red bobble trim in the cupboard so used it to decorate this little stitchery by Natalie Bird.

Decorations

I have made 3 decorations this week! I must admit I love Christmas sewing. I made the lovely little stamped bag from the stitching day. I have stamped a few more to make into other decorations.

Roni had made smaller stars last week using my star pattern from the stitching day. Just needed to try that and put little reindeers in the centre.
Marlene has been busy and made up this little decoration. She had cut her centre for the star too small but it wasn't wasted!
She also made up her star. Looks great.
Marlene also made up this lovely little cross stitch.
Lynda brought in some paper pieced decorations she had made. Must have a go at one of these too.
Colleen has been busy too and has made her little bag stitchery into a little hanging.

Barbara finished her lovely cross stitch decoration too. She added some lovely tiny bobble trim to the edges.
Colleen has also finished her stitchery and is making a little hanger. Looks great.

Stitching on the Lake

Fiona and I enjoyed organising our second Christmas stitching day last weekend. Once again, it was lovely to hear the buzz of busy stitchers and to enjoy catching up with many of the ladies again and to meet some new ones. The room was all ready once again.

Najelle and Deanna (and Terrie on Friday evening) came to set up their lovely stall of goodies from Hobbysew to tempt everyone.

The room was busy with everyone stitching, shopping, eating and chatting.

As always, Lynne made us some delicious goodies for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Lunch was a delicious salad with pumpkin, spinach, chicken and beetroot! It was yum!
There was chocolate Christmas cake for afternoon tea.

The show and tell was great too. Barbara did a class recently at Hobbysew and made this amazing bag using the softest leather!
Sally had her beautiful Scandinavian Christmas quilt all finished.
Peta has been busy and made up her gorgeous canvas work from earlier in the year and had finished her cross stitch from last year as well.

Pat has made this lovely, colourful quilt for a special little one.
Lynda managed to finish her star decoration on the day. Well done.
Thank you to all those who attended our days over this past year. We will be sending an email in a little while telling you about our plans for 2016!
