Almost all Christmas show and tell

Hobbysew was buzzing with show and tell again this week. It was almost all Christmas related with the ladies getting very organised and getting things finished! Terrie has finished her beautiful Christmas angel by Annie Smith. We all wanted one!
She had also finished her little Santa from the stitching day.
Helen loves canvas work and had finished her lovely canvas work decoration. Gorgeous colours!

Barbara is working on hers as well and it is looking lovely. She has chosen to use pearl threads which is a good idea.
In the evening, it was so special to see Sue's beautiful table runner from one of Nancy Halverson's books! Looks so good and the great big red buttons look fantastic.

Anita has also finished her lovely stitchery. This is one of Rosalie Quinlan's patterns and it looks great.
Anita has also made this owl quilt. It is very clever as it is a panel!
I have been doing a little stitching but am in the middle of Christmas decorating and should be doing that right now instead of blogging. I love making the decorations but they do take a long time to arrange!

Stitching on the Lake Day 2

We had another lovely day of stitching again on Saturday. Here are the bags all ready to go.
 The samples were ready.
Terrie and Najelle set up the hobbysew stall beautifully with lots of goodies to tempt the ladies.

Little Heidi came along for her first stitching day and she was such a good little girl for her Mummy and Grandma.
Here are the ladies busy stitching.

There was some beautiful show and tell too. This sewing box from the retreat looked just lovely.
This zippered purse looks great too.
Roni had finished her Christmas cushion from last year and it looks lovely too. She added an extra stitched heart to make her stitchery larger.
Ros came with lots of scissor keepers all finished! She must own lots of lovely scissors.
The food was delicious once again. This was afternoon tea....it was so yummy. Fiona has some pictures of lunch and morning tea on her blog. Thanks to Lynne and Sammy for the wonderful catering.
Two lovely little boys, and Mummy too, came to visit on Sunday afternoon and they were sitting in the pram like big boys! They liked seeing everything and sitting up. Here is Sam in the pram.
Ben was terribly cute on Sunday. Here he is sitting up in a chair.
Sammy was very good and slept so the photos ended up being of his non sleeping brother!

How cute is he with those great big blue eyes. I know. I am biassed!

A bit of stitching

Over the last few busy weeks, I have still tried to stitch as often as possible. I finished my "The Simple Life" bag last week and am very pleased with the result.
This panel by Anni Downs is so inspiring, even if it needs an iron!

I wanted so much to stitch the pictures and have asked Anni to please make these gorgeous pictures into stitcheries. They are not too easy to trace and I had to choose my own colours! Looking forward to them being in a book next year perhaps. Here is the lovely nativity stitched and ready to make into "something" Christmassy!
Another cute little Santa came to Thursday's meeting! Well done, Caroline, he looks so good.
Just waiting for Fiona to come so we can go and get set up for Stitching on the Lake tomorrow. So looking forward to seeing everyone and to having another lovely day of stitching (and eating and chatting and fun).

Stitching show and tell

It is so exciting to see what the ladies have been stitching each Wednesday. Gwen had finished her little Santa from Saturday. I just love his bushy beard.
Karen mustn't sleep as she had so many things to show us. This is her last block of Whimsy and Wonder, the Quiltaid BOM. This is such a beautiful block.
She had also pieced this quilt! It is now ready to go to Robyn to be quilted.
And never one to have a rest, she has a gorgeous new project to start. These are 1920's ladies' fashions to stitch and then make into a quilt. She has chosen her borders and even has the backing all ready to go!
Pauline brought in her Christmas bag from Tis the Season to share with us. Looks wonderful.
The evening girls had been busy too! Sally has finished her foundation pieced stocking from the stitching day.
 Sue has finished hers too.
Sue is so clever at hardanger and has made this lovely angel.
Sue had also finished her little Santa. Well done!!!

Stitching on the lake - Show and tell

It is always so special to see the Show and tell at the stitching day. Many of the ladies had finished their projects from previous days or come along with gorgeous things they have been working on. I managed to take some photos of just a few of them. This little scissor keeper looked so good.
Laurelle had used a lovely variegated thread to stitch her zippered purse.
Denise has been very busy and completed her coloured and stitched pouch
and her needle roll. They both looked lovely.
She had also make up her stamped Noah's ark cushion.
Jo showed this beautiful quilt she working on. It is almost finished but for a little quilting. I just love this one. I think it is a pattern by Vivian Robinson.
Beth had very special show and tell on her table! She finished her little Santa on the day!!!!
Yesterday at the shop, it was lovely to see all the stitching girls who came to the day, finishing their projects. I was just a little too busy to take any photos.

Stitching on the Lake Day 1

We had such a lovely day on Saturday with all the ladies at our first Stitching on the lake day. I feel so lucky to be able to do it all again next week. It is always so special to catch up with friends who have been coming for a few years and also to new ladies here for the first time. Fiona and I enjoyed setting the hall up ready for everyone. The bags looked very bright and cheerful and worried me a little....not my sort of Christmas colours really but they really looked good.

The girls from Hobbysew came to set up a lovely stall of goodies to tempt the ladies.

Here they are all busy stitching, chatting and shopping.
Carol, Lynnette and Kay enjoying each other's company.
Heidi, Sally and Sue enjoying the sunshine.
Here we are enjoying the day.
Here is Laurelle busily stitching the lovely canvas work decoration.
Must remember to take some photos of the food next week as it was delicious. Thanks Lynne and Sammy.
