Friends in Stitches

On Saturday, we headed to Glen Waverley for the Friends in Stitches day with Leanne Beasley, Natalie Lymer and Gail Pan. It was a lovely day of stitching, sharing, chatting and eating! The name tags were ready for us as we arrived.
The samples of our projects were on display too.
This group of friends had made matching tops to wear on the day with all that they were going to enjoy printed on them.
We shared the table with these lovely ladies.
Our kits were in the blue bags. There is Meg joining our table for a moment with her cute red hat on.
Gail, Leanne and Natalie telling us about the day and the projects.
There were inspiring displays of the ladies' wonderful creations around the room.

We even received a beautiful gift in this little box!
It was a lovely necklace with "I create" on it.
The food was very good too especially dessert after lunch. There were lots of choices and some were tiny little desserts like this. It was delicious.
In the afternoon there was a show and tell session and it was so inspiring. Look at all these wonderful quilts.

In the evening we headed back to the city and met Rose for dinner. It was lovely to catch up with Rose. We had met on the stitching cruise earlier in the year.
We then headed back to the apartment for our last night. On Sunday, we enjoyed a sleep in and then a little shopping and finally flew home in the afternoon. It was a lovely few days away.

Great time in Melbourne

Fiona and I have had a lovely few days in Melbourne. We had some delicious meals and have shopped and managed to go to the Craft show and to a great day of stitching at "Stitching with Friends" too. One of the highlights of the shopping was visiting L'Uccello. This is a delightful shop though it was a little tricky to find as it is upstairs but it is a little hidden treasure.
Here is Fiona admiring the gorgeous hand crocheted scarfs that they have here.

On Friday we went to the Melbourne Quilt and Craft fair which was good fun. We did manage to spend up even though we had both said that we "didn't need anything"!
We enjoyed meeting some fellow bloggers. Here is Shez from Enjoying life with us.
We also caught up with these girls as well. Next to me is Sharon from Lilabelle Lane. I must admit I am not sure of the other girls' blogs but will try and find out.
We were so amazed by this wonderful quilt which is being raffled for a wonderful charity called the Caroline Chisholm Society. They do some wonderful work with sole parents and young mums etc.

Rose and Robyn organised the making of the quilt with about 20 or so amazing patchworkers. I hope I win it!
We enjoyed seeing some more gorgeous knitted tea cosies.

After shopping most of the day, we headed to the quilt show and enjoyed seeing so many wonderful quilts. Here are just a few.

After such a busy day we headed back to one of those gorgeous little Melbourne laneways for a delicious dinner. We then had to rest up as the next day was our stitching day with Leanne Beasley, Gail Pan and Natalie from Cinderberry Stitches.
