I am really enjoying making a decoration a week with Marg Low.

Another decoration
In between the busyness of Stitching on the Lake planning, I managed to make up my woven wool felt bauble! It is another lovely pattern by Anni Downs.

Stitching on the Lake
Here is our last project for Saturday's Stitching on the Lake day. It is a lovely little pouch to store your Christmas stitching in or to give as a gift. Your will need some of your favourite Christmas fabrics and DMC threads 347 and 3012 or your own choice.
We are so looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Don't forget to bring your favourite cup for your coffee or tea.

Stitching on the Lake
Fiona and I are so looking forward to another great day of stitching, delicious food and friendship this coming Saturday. As always, here is a preview of our projects for this special Christmas day.
This Christmas cushion can be either a large or mini cushion. Don't forget to bring some fusible web, your favourite scraps of Christmas fabric and threads to match your fabrics. I have used DMC 221, 729, 3011, 3013 and 936 on this cushion.
The star decoration uses iron on applique paper which is provided. Bring along your glue pen or tacking thread and fine thread for sewing the pieces and some favourite Christmas fabric. The threads used are 3011, 221 and 729 or your own choice.
The redwork gift bag is stitched with red 221 or your own favourite colour. It would be fun to fill with some small gifts.

Some progress..
It was nice to work on an old UFO yesterday. I started the Scandinavian Rose quilt in early 2014 and it has taken this long to complete the stitcheries! I normally love working in red thread but did get sick of it on these large ones. It was fun to get out my favourite French General red fabrics to start piecing this quilt. I have decided to do a few blocks each month so that I will eventually see the quilt made up! Lots of people are working on UFOs so I did feel motivated to start on one at least.
I am also enjoying working on a Christmas decoration each week along with Marg Low. I have 4 done now and started this bauble decoration yesterday. I made this one last year as a gift and always planned on making one for me! It is fun to work with the woven wool felt.

Stitching...
As always, it is fun to catch up with the stitching ladies at class and at social stitching on Wednesday. Ronnie has been so busy and has made up her gorgeous stitched and coloured cushion. She did this in a class with Helen Stubbings.
Look at her fantastic buttons.
Ronnie has also made up some great outdoor Christmas cushions using some hessian Santa sacks! How good do these look?
I love the lacing on the back.
Some of the night class went out to Galong last weekend for a patchwork retreat and did some great sewing. Linda worked on this quilt for her son who loves the Simpsons.
Anita was very busy and made a bag, a long runner for a friend and a shaggy quilt!
Deanna did lots too and one of her projects was this terrific quilt using a jelly roll and a layer cake.
I have only been making some small things in between preparing for Stitching on the Lake which is on next week! Here is my decoration for this week. It is a lovely one by Anni Downs.
I have also stitched 2 more United Sitches blocks.

Melbourne
It was so much fun to spend a long weekend in Melbourne with some lovely friends. We haven't been away as a group for a while but it was just so special to catch up with everyone. Besides catching up with ate some amazing food and shopped!!!! We flew on Friday morning and then headed to the Richmond Hill Larder for a delicious lunch. Some people had dessert!
We had a shop on Bridge road and then 3 of us took a taxi to Amitie. It is a gorgeous patchwork shop.
On Saturday we headed to the markets for breakfast. We then wandered in the food hall for quite a while. Lynne and Maree bought some yummy food for our dinner that night back at the apartments.
We had a wonderful lunch at Chin Chin. Gorgeous place to eat! In the afternoon we wandered the lanes and did a bit more shopping.
This is our amazing spread for dinner. So many delicious flavours.
On Sunday we headed out to Daylesford and discovered that Ballan was on the way. We had a yummy coffee at the restaurant and then a quick look at the shop.
There is a liberty room and a Japanese room now!!!!
We then headed to Sault for our wonderful lunch.
There were so many gorgeous entrees! They were all beautifully presented and so delicious.
