Halstatt and Gmunden

 On a rainy Thursday, 8th May, we took a hire car to Halstatt. It is a gorgeous town on one of the lovely lakes in the Salzgammergut. We enjoyed wandering around Halstatt and were very thankful that one coffee shop was open. Lots were closed as it wasn't the peak season yet. We also went to the Salt mines which was amazing with slippery dips and lots of great information and quite a few stairs too! 

We then drove on the Gmunden which was well worth seeing again (I had been here with mum in 1997) and we enjoyed afternoon tea in a gorgeous tearoom.
