Lovely stitching

Great to see Lynn back at class. She has been so busy while she has been away. She has been enjoying lots of lovely cross stitch and blackwork.

We all loved this special canvas work decoration.

She has also created these great tablet bags for a friend. Lynn has used lovely fabrics and these will be so useful.

Still stitching...

All that travelling on the weekend meant that there was a bit of good stitching time. It amazes me how long it takes to stitch things when you are aware of the hours flying by! I made a bit of progress on block 8 of Foxley Village.
I have wanted to do this little "blackwork" from one of our stitching days and enjoyed stitching it.
These little fellows were in the latest Family Circle magazine (which has lots of nice things in it). I am going to make some little decorations with them.
Last week I also caught up my Splendid Sampler blocks!

These stitcheries are all done for the Story of my day so I managed to sew 2 more blocks together.

On Monday, I found the time to stitch together this cute little bag/container by Anni Downs. It is so cute and handy.
I was very naughty yesterday and ordered the latest gorgeous BOM by Anni Downs. I just couldn't resist.

Great stitching

Life has been a bit busy here as there has been some renovating of the sewing room. It is a tiny room and everything has to come out so it could be painted etc. Oh dear! There was so much stuff and I had spent the last few weeks trying to tidy and cull things! I want the new room to be tidy and useful so things don't quite fit in as well. I am almost organised and will show you the new cupboards when I get everything where it should be. I now have one of these in my room!
We have seen some great work at the shop over the last few weeks. Joan made this amazing quilt!
 Lesley finished another beautiful decoration.
Roni made this little pouch with the blackwork design from the last stitching day.
Lynne has been amazingly busy and has finished so many lovely Christmas gifts!
She is also now addicted to canvas work and has finished three of these humbugs.
Colleen has made up this lovely bag with the candlewicking on the front.
Josie has just finished this beautiful quilt using a Bromwyn Hayes pattern.
Marlene has made this great runner too.
I have been doing a few things, in between organising, and have made 2 more Splendid Sampler blocks. Not much time for anything else!

Lovely work

Last week there was some great show and tell. Lynn has been so busy and has stitched this gorgeous blackwork design on 18ct aida. They are going to be Christmas gifts.

Jayne has finished her candlewicking and has used a lovely variegated perle 5 thread.
Beth has done a great job on her bird pin cushion.
In the evening, Barbara showed us some lovely knitting and sewing she has completed for some new little ones in her family!

Sttching on the Lake

Fiona and I are so looking forward to our next Stitching on the Lake day in Canberra. It is next Saturday so we are pleased to be able to share our projects for these days. We are looking forward to another 2 days of stitching, yummy food (thanks to Lynne), chatting with all the ladies and just sharing a great day together. This project is a pin cushion made using the felt provided and some black homespun. The DMC threads used are red 347, blues 312 and 519, green 3013 and yellow 783.
Have some fun stitching with thicker thread on this candlewicking project. Your kit includes the background fabric and the perle thread. You can make either the bag or the small cushion,

This little basket is appliqued and stitched using your favourite fabrics and threads to match. The DMC threads I have used are green 3012 and 3012, pink 3345, blues 3325 and 931, yellow 676 and red 3722.
This lovely canvas work biscornu can be stitched in your favourite threads. If you wish to use the same colours as Fiona has, then your will need DMC threads 352, 470, 469, 472, 347, 351 and 350.

You could also have a go at some blackwork.
Lastly, there is this gorgeous garland to stitch.
See you all very soon. Don't forget to bring your favourite cup for your coffee and tea.

Wonderful stitching and a Christmas party

Maryellen has had her wonderful blackwork framed. Doesn't it look great?
Donna brought along her beautiful wool blanket she has finished. She has designed this herself and there are so many grub roses on the hat. She even has eyelashes. Such a special gift.
We then headed out to lunch for our Christmas party. Here are Jan and Joan having a good time.
Angela kindly played Santa for our gifts and she obviously enjoyed herself.
Here are some of the gifts we received.
