Weekend away and other news

I went to the coast a few weeks ago for our annual girls weekend with the Thursday ladies. It was a fun weekend as always even though the weather was cool and rainy. A few people swam, many walked (not me), some stitched and crocheted and we ate well. Many puzzles were also completed.

Anita brought in her wonderful Owl and Hare Hollow quilt to show us. Looks amazing.

Last Wednesday, at afternoon stitching, we loved seeing Beth's Easter decorations.

I have been struggling with my lacy knitting lately. I can't seem to do a lacy pattern like I could when young!!! Here it is blocking.
On Saturday, Adrienne and I went to the Australian Yarn show and there were so many gorgeous yarns. I wasn't buying any but...... I couldn't resist these blues to make a Love Note sweater

This and that

Finally, a bit of stitching to share. Before I went away I finished off the Christmas box, a pattern by Lynette Anderson. I was given the kit as a gift by Fiona and had completed the stitchery ages ago. As always it is the putting together that slows me down. It isn't perfect but looks ok.

Last Wednesday night Anita shared her finished Owl and Hare Hollow quilt. It looks fantastic.

A little while ago we headed to the coast for the church camp. Didn't take any photos but here are a few of the beach.

Finally, a catch up of the boys and family in Perth. Janelle and Richard were able to visit them after their cruise to Perth and took a few photos. The others are school awards and activities.

It was Canberra day yesterday and this little family celebrated with a walk in the warm weather.

Cruising to Sydney

After Picton we were to visit Christchurch but the seas were too rough to go into port. So we had a day at sea instead. We then docked in Port chalmers for Dunedin. As we had been there many times we just had a wander around the small town and a yummy coffee. On the next day we cruised through the Sounds and had beautiful weather. It is a beautiful part of the world.

We enjoyed sitting in Eden, a lovely 3 storey area at the back of the ship. We also had an amazing dinner at the Eden restaurant! It was wonderful to watch the kitchen preparing the meals.

We headed into Sydney later than expected due to the ocean swell. Mind you on this ship you didn't feel it rocking at all! We tendered off (we had an overnight in Sydney harbour) and then caught the ferry to Bruce's cousin, Anne's place. She made us an amazing lunch and it was a delight to catch up with Kenneth and Jane too.

The wonderful view from the apartment.

There were amazing boats racing on the Harbour!
