Show and Tell

I do look like I have been thinking only about the Stitch-in but the photos were so nice and they are so easy to share. Here are some pictures of some of the lovely show and tell at Glenharrow.
This quilt was amazing with lots of needleturn. Such a lot of work.
This is a lovely stitchery quilt. Felt rather guilty as my one is stitched but not pieced. It is listed in my Projects to finish list! Felt inspired to come home and finish it but haven't had time to even think about it.
The same lady showed the previous quilt and then this amazing one!
There were so many clever ladies showing their finished projects. Here are a few more. This is a Sue Spargo bag.
This is a lovely embroidered sewing box in the shape of a house.
Here is another gorgeous quilt. I think it is a Birdhouse design with a circus theme.
This quilt is one from Rosalie's new book using her fabrics. It is very clever as I think some of the blocks are cheater blocks using the printed fabric.

Glenharrow Gardens

Even though it was chilly that day, Fiona and I braved the great outdoors to take some pictures of the beautiful gardens. This is the main building where we were.
This is one of the cottages you can rent.
I love this little birdhouse.
There were lots of birds and even these!
Here are a few more views including us.

Wonderful food

One of the other highlights of the Stitch-in day at Glenharrow was the lovely food. The presentation was so beautiful. Oh, to have people who bring food out like this when you have visitors at home. The trouble is if is up to me to do it!!!! This cake looked wonderful but the hit of the morning tea appeared to be the lemon tart behind. It went very quickly.
This is the flourless orange cake.
Lunch was server on large platters and breadboards with lots of yummy relishes and sauces to go with the meat. At the end of the table there were 2 large salads.
Yummy bread too.

A few more pictures...

Sorry this is blurry but this is the main room at Glenharrow where we came to get lollies, biscuits, coffee and tea and where morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea were served.
Great selection of lollies.
Rosalie and Leanne also sold some of their older samples which was very popular. One of the ladies at our table bought this special bag decorated with lovely vintage buttons. It is lying on a table runner made with Rosalie's fabric.
And here is the start, after lollies and biscuits, of morning tea. Everything was presented so beautifully.

More Glenharrow pictures

I do hope you won't be bored with more of these Glenharrow photos. It was really such a special place. Here are some gorgeous roses and a wonderful barrel of apples.

I really like this Christmas mat and picture.

Some stockings.

This is a lovely quilt by Rosalie. I do happen to have the pattern in my stash as well!

Stitch-in at Glenharrow

Time to flash back to last week and look at some of the photos taken at the Stitch-in at Glenharrow. Leanne and Rosalie had decorated the already delightful venue with lots of their stitching samples. It was hard to get started with our stitching as there was so much to see. The building is very rustic and lovely with lots of old furniture and timber walls and so much character. There were pots of flowers everywhere. Here is a bag by Leanne and the samples and some gorgeous jonquils.
Here are Leanne's special pincushions and doileys. Just had to get that pattern.
These are 2 of Leanne's quilts. The first is her recent block of the month. The red bags on the tables had our kits in them for the two projects and a lovely cookie cutter on the outside.
It was a very cool day and even the lovely fires and gas heaters battled to keep us all warm.
Another lovely cushion and quilt.
This is Leanne's Postcards quilt.
This quilt is a lovely friendship quilt and is signed by girls who had come to a previous stitching day.
This is a lovely Christmas hanging designed by Leanne.

Melbourne and Glenharrow

Fiona and I are home after a wonderful time in Melbourne. Our first stop after the flight was, of course, lunch. We DID NOT eat these cakes at the lovely little deli where we had delicious soup for lunch. These cakes looked so good I just had to take a picture of them. Across the road was AK Traditions. It was the most wonderful shop full of lovely wool, textiles, felt animals and so much more. I saw their stall at the Canberra Craft fair and it was a great chance to see the shop. We were not disappointed.
We had a quick visit to the outlets and then headed up to the Dandenongs to our B & B. It was a very chilly night! The next day we headed to Glenharrow for the Stitch in with Leanne Beasley and Rosalie Quinlan. It was so beautifully decorated and there was so much to see. Glenharrow is a rustic venue with so much atmosphere. Here are Rosalie's samples for her new book. It is being launched next week.
Here are the projects we were making at the day. Rosalie's is the house stitchery and Leanne's is the little stitching bag and needle bag.
Here are some of Rosalie's dolls decorating one of the corners.
I have taken so many pictures so will enjoy posting them over the next few weeks. Best rest now as our stitching day is tomorrow and we are ready.

A little Christmas finish and works in progress

I really enjoyed making this little Christmas basket from a kit I bought in Sydney from Anni Downes. I plan to make a few more as gifts.
I am also continuing to work on my class projects from "The World as it should be". Sadly, I have finished the stitching parts and now need to put the cushion and bag together! This is the appliqued cushion decoration (with camera strap!). Lovely to stitch with that little naive stitch instead of blanket stitch.
This is the woven, wool, felt, bag applique. The wool was very nice to work with.
I am very excited as next week Fiona and I will be packing to go to the stitch-in at Glenharrow with Rosalie Quinlan and Leanne Beasley. Leanne has just posted some pictures of her kits. Here is one of them.
