Stitching on the Bay and some progress

It was so nice to see the ladies on Saturday but also to admire the things they have been stitching. There was lots of show and tell but here are just a few of them. Renate was using this lovely felt pocket she had stitched ages ago. I love the applique and the colours.

Maria had stitched these felt items at classes at Stephs in Moruya.

I think this stocking is Maria's too. The colours she has chosen work so well.

I have been trying to keep up with my many projects. Here are the angels from the Christmas Fun BOM.

I have been struggling with all the needleturn on this fence on block 5 of In my Garden. I have block 6 waiting so must get going!

I had a day at home last Thursday so managed to make up the last few churn dash blocks for this third block of Scandinavian Christmas. I am loving working on this BOM.

Stitching on the Bay

Fiona and I are looking forward to Stitching on the Bay next Saturday. We are doing these lovely projects that we did in May here in Canberra so you have seen these pictures before. Here is the stitched table runner.

This little project is the painted button but bring along some fabrics to create the background if you wish.

This little felt needlecase and scissor fob is great fun to stitch.

The next project is this beautiful canvas work pin cushion.

Some lovely embroidery to stitch to make up a useful bag and...

a delightful biscornu with a painted wash and some embroidered flowers.

I am looking forward to catching up with the Bay ladies and also to enjoying the delicious food that Maree and Lynne are preparing for the day.

Stitching on the Bay

I will continue the holiday photos later as I need to share our lovely day of stitching in Batemans Bay. Fiona has some lovely photos on her blog too. I headed to the Bay on Friday afternoon and we set up ready for Saturday. Here are the kits and the tables ready for the ladies.

We then had a delicious meal just near the church and this was the view from our seats on the deck. I can't believe that I used to live here!

Rebecca from Cute as a Button came down to the Bay with her wonderful Nancy Halverson goodies. They are just too tempting.

It is always lovely to see what the ladies have been stitching. This was a very special sewing bag.

Here are some of the ladies busy stitching. It was a very hot day and I must admit that I don't cope well with the humidity these days.

Maree and Lyn did a fantastic job catering for the day. We were so spoilt! There were delicious scones and muffins for morning tea, a lovely chicken salad for lunch (perfect for the hot day) and the most amazing pavlova roll and lemon cakes for afternoon tea. There was even homemade chocolate. Fiona has put the recipes for the pavlova roll and the lemon cakes on her blog.

I'm home again and Stitching on the Bay

I am home after a lovely holiday cruising around New Zealand. It was a very special holiday with Ma and Pa and Jeni and Paul. We had lots of laughs and really enjoyed spending the time together. We also ate far too much, enjoyed good weather and saw lots of great sights. I will share some over the next few days. Firstly I need to show the projects we are doing for Stitching on the Bay on Saturday. You will have seen them in my earlier posts and Fiona has some nice pictures of them all on her blog as well. So looking forward to seeing all the Bay girls on Saturday. Here is a collage of the projects.

Now to share just a little of our holiday before I head off to get ready for work. It was a very relaxing holiday as all the work is done for you! I didn't stitch as much as expected but enjoyed reading some books and just relaxing. Here are some pictures of us leaving Sydney.

Going under the bridge is a little scary! It feels like the ship won't fit.

Check out the Bridge climbers waving to the ship! What a great sight for them to see from way up there.

More stitching day highlights

There was so much to see on Saturday at the stitching days. This first picture is a decorated felt bag which was on Steph's stall. You can buy the felt bag and then you embroider, add some felt flowers and decorate it as you wish.

The Bay ladies had lots of wonderful show and tell. Here is a lovely bright quilt for a special grandchild. I do love the lady beetles.

This is another wonderful blue quilt.

Jenny has painted, embroidered and pieced this lovely quilt.

It is a very rainy and chilly day here today, but just perfect for tidying up my stitching day mess, blogging and now to some stitching with a quilt over my lap to keep me warm. Hope you are finding time to relax and stitch too. 

Stitching on the Bay

I am safely home after a rainy and dark drive home up the mountain. We had a great day at Stitching on the Bay today and it was so lovely to chat and share with the ladies and to enjoy each other's company. Here are the samples ready for the day.

Stephanie and Cheryl came and brought some lovely patterns, books, kits and notions from "Steph's" in Moruya.

These felted flowers were so lovely and very tempting.

Here is morning tea. Maree and Lynne catered and they did a fabulous job. We were very spoilt! This is morning tea. We just HAD to try everything!

Lunch was frittata and salad. It was delicious. Some of the ladies brought their finished projects from previous stitching days to show everyone.

And here is a picture of afternoon tea. I can confirm that it all tasted wonderful. There was some healthy fruit to eat but the sweet things were too tempting. 

Stitching on the Bay

Next week, Fiona and I are having another stitching day in Batemans Bay. We are looking forward to catching up with all the ladies and to having a wonderful day of stitching, chatting and eating too. We are doing the projects we did a few weeks ago at the stitching days in Canberra. Here is the canvas needle roll.

Stitching on the Bay

Stitching on the Bay is on this coming Saturday and Fiona has just posted these 2 lovely collages of the projects. I am so sorry that I won't be able to help and be there this time but do hope that the ladies who are attending have a wonderful time. Due to some changes in plans over the last few weeks I am committed to staying in Canberra this weekend. I would really rather be with you all in the Bay but I am sure there will be many more opportunities to catch up. Fiona has promised to post lots of pictures of the day on her blog. I'll be thinking of you!
