A few weeks ago  I met some friends at Craft Alive in Canberra. There were some lovely stalls and it was great to see the quilt Exhibition.

Home activities

We have been home for quite a few weeks. So now is the time to get back to normal. I had a few quilts professionally quilted before I went away so I enjoyed binding and labelling them. Nice to see them finished. The first is Owl and Hare Hollow and the second is the Adeline and Remy quilt from my quilting holiday last year.

I had knitted this cardigan earlier on so it needed blocking and buttons.

The week we returned we had to head to Sydney for a funeral for Bruce's cousin. He had been very ill and was 82 but he will be missed. Graham was the loveliest man and the memoral service was really beautiful. As the family doesn't get together often a few pictures were taken.

Some finished quilts

Finally....I sent 3 quilts to be quilted a few weeks ago. Lovely to see them almost finished. I then was very motivated to bind and label them! Here they are all finished with pieced backs and labels! They are the Moda Village quilt, started in 2020 during covid, Tiny Treasures quilt using Kathy Schmitz's lovely book and a vanishing 4 patch quilt using French general fabrics. The tops were all done years ago so it feels good to have them finished.

Amsterdam

We settled on our boat and enjoyed a few cocktails and dinner. The next morning, 22nd September, we had a lovely morning of stitching and then spent the afternoon wandering in Amsterdam. It was lovely and warm!

The next day we had the most wonderful visit to Petra Prins patchwork shop right in Amsterdam. It was such a beautiful shop and Petra gave us a fantastic talk about dutch quilts and showed us so many wonderful quilts.

In the evening for dessert the ship had sutch proffertjes. They were delicious.
