Weekend away and other news

I went to the coast a few weeks ago for our annual girls weekend with the Thursday ladies. It was a fun weekend as always even though the weather was cool and rainy. A few people swam, many walked (not me), some stitched and crocheted and we ate well. Many puzzles were also completed.

Anita brought in her wonderful Owl and Hare Hollow quilt to show us. Looks amazing.

Last Wednesday, at afternoon stitching, we loved seeing Beth's Easter decorations.

I have been struggling with my lacy knitting lately. I can't seem to do a lacy pattern like I could when young!!! Here it is blocking.
On Saturday, Adrienne and I went to the Australian Yarn show and there were so many gorgeous yarns. I wasn't buying any but...... I couldn't resist these blues to make a Love Note sweater

A finish and progress....

Finally finished Scandinavian Rose. I did love doing these red stitcheries but there were many of them! So good to have this quilt completely finished. I hand quilted it (not very well but it is holding together) and have added a label.

I have also been keeping up with Stitch Therapy 365.

I enjoyed playing with my new ball winder and wound my first skein of wool. So much quicker that rolling the ball by hand.
On Saturday I headed to the Folk Festival and enjoyed some great music and yummy food. It is always a good day out.

The Spooky men are always so good!

A little stitching...

We were pretty busy on holidays but I did manage to do a little stitching. I took far more but that was just in case! I managed to stitch one United Stitches block.
I had drawn up these two stitcheries for labels for Anderson's Farm and The Story of my Day.

It is lovely to do a bit of canvas work on the plane so stitched this little red house.
My last project was to start this scarf in lovely wool I bought last year at the wool day at the Bus Depot Markets. It is only 2 ply wool so the scarf is taking a while to crochet but it is fun. Might just be tempted this weekend as the wool day is on again.
I didn't do much shopping. I only bought a few bits for the children and a bit of clothing. I did get these balls of wool and a few bobbins from the Stott bobbin factory.
It was my birthday while away and Penny gave me this gorgeous bag with some lovely wool pieces and some embroidery needles. So special.
When I returned, Lyndal gave me this gorgeous kit for a Rosalie Quinlan necklace. Can't wait to start!
Lyndal also made me this lovely crochet bag (to put my wool in of course) and this beautiful ball of wool. Very spoilt!
It was lovely to go to stitching again on Wednesday and Roni had finished this gorgeous cushion!

Shopping and a little stitching

My famous last words before I went into AQC were "I don't really need ANYTHING!". Ha Ha! I still managed to buy quite a bit. There were so many lovely shops there and it was just too tempting!
I did buy some patterns.
These lovely frames were too tempting too.
And just a bit of fabric, some buttons and some useful bits and pieces were bought too.

Then... I couldn't resist getting a bit of wool to play with, some from the show and the Noro from Morris and Sons.
Last week I managed to put together this zippered pouch using the houses from an Anni Downs' pattern.
I also finished making the rest of the baubles for the second scarf.

Bus Depot Markets

I managed a quick visit to the Wool Day at the Bus Depot Markets on Sunday. So lovely to catch up with  Fiona, Maree, Lynne and Shirley from the Bay over lunch. Couldn't resist the delicious Ethiopian food! There were so many lovely handmade things on display. There are lovely food stalls too selling delicious bread, pasta, relishes and lots more.

As I left it was fun to see these woolly sheep who have helped make the woollen products inside.

I did buy a skein of wool and have been doing a little knitting!!!!!
