May catchup

Where have the weeks gone. Here we are at the end of May already. We headed to Perth for a quick family visit at the end of April and enjoyed catching up with the family. We had a nice visit to the city and caught up with some football games for the boys.

The miss had a lovely holiday down the coast in their caravan with other families.

The Perth family also had a nice holiday in Broome.

I have been stitching and knitting. I finished my cardigan and a vest and a gift for Fiona for her birthday.

I have also started the stitcheries for the new Anni Downs quilt, The Hare and the Tortoise.

Outings, a gift and a new start

Last week a group of us went to see My Brilliant Career at the theatre. It was a musical and I was amazed at how well it was presented. The actors were all talented musicians and singers and we loved the show.

We then checked out the quilt exhibition at the museum of the history of Canberra quilters.

I received a wonderful early birthday gift. Thank you, Fiona, for my very special gift.
I also finished my little basket using liberty scraps. Time consuming but good fun.
Felt like knitting so started my Flower Child cardigan. Another learning curve as even though I made one last year, I have forgotten lots!

Catching up

My goodness, a whole month has gone by! Here we are in March. I have been making things and going places! I finished my blue Santa. Haven't decided how to finish him but will get to that later. I have also stitched green Santa.

This scarf was a big job but I am thrilled with the result.

I had been hoarding this crazy wool for a while and decided to make another Love Note Sweater. I did use the correct needles this time which does make a difference.
My daughter, Lyndal learnt how to stitch baskets and taught me! Time consuming but fun.
Family catch ups! Jack went on his first long camp recently and had a great time.

He also starred in the Hale magazine and swam in the swimming carnival.

The miss had her first assembly last week and it was very good. She played in the band, accompanied her friend on the drums, sang, danced and performed in a video!

Bits and pieces

The month of February has started with cool days, very hot days and much rain! I have been stitching away and am enjoying working on Blue Santa.

I finally started my Boro liberty scarf designed by Cutting Cloth. It s very time consuming!
The kids all headed off to school recently!
