Heading away again

I came home on Monday 30th September and had a bit over a week to recover from the jetlag, wash and repack for our trip to the US and Canada. Not sure I would recommend this but I managed even with the cold I got later in the week. On Tuesday, we flew from Canberra to Fiji and then to Los Angeles. We had one night in an airport hotel and tried to keep awake by walking to a coffee shop! We then flew to Boston the next day and arrived at night and managed to catch a bus and then the green line to Newton Highlands where our bed and breakfast was located. It was a very nice place to stay. The next day we again caught the train into town and did the Freedom Walk tour. We also had a wander around the old parts of Boston.

On Friday we visited Harvard University which was very special. We especially enjoyed the art museum. We then went back into town, visited the markets, the waterfront and wandered the cobbled streets and enjoyed cannoli from Mike's Pastries. The lines were very long and the cannoli was very good.

On Saturday we went to board the Azamara Journey for our cruise. There was a fair bit of waiting around to board but it was lovely to finally settle in and enjoy a late lunch and a yummy dinner.

Quilt shop, stitching and Frankfurt

On the 26th September we visited a lovely shop called Quilt shop Leur. We enjoyed the shop and coffee and cake at the cafe opposite.

The next day we cruised on the Rhine and headed back to Cologne. Our trip was nearly over though it was very nice to stay on the ship and stitch and enjoy the meals and drinks.

Here we all are on our last day on the ship.
The next day we left the ship and started our very long trip home. We took our bus to Frankfurt and then spent most of the day in the centre of Frankfurt enjoying the shops, the scenery and having lunch, before heading to the airport for our evening flight home.
