Stitching, new book, new fabric and little boys

Just headed into the sewing room today and put together July's SKOW blocks. I had them stitched ages ago but hadn't added the little squares! Must get on and do the side border but might wait till the last 3 blocks are done! So close to finishing now.
I have been slowly stitching these little birds from the Vignette quilt. I suppose even a little stitching will help to get the quilt done!

It was exciting to receive this lovely book in the post recently. I do love Lynette's Christmas projects. I do agree with Hanne and Abyquilt that enlarging the designs by 200% is really painful.
Just love the fabrics in Lynette's Christmas Fun range! They came the other day and are just gorgeous.

My favourites are the reds, of course!
Most exciting of all is the little chaps coming home from hospital! Here they are in their little capsules wearing Nanna's (that's me) knitted cardigans. So cute.
They sleep some of the day away in their pram. This is on their first day at home.
They came here today for a visit with Mum which was so lovely! So very special to have them living up the road!

A giveaway winner, a lovely quilt and some shopping

It is Saturday here in rainy Canberra and it is time to draw my little giveaway. Thank you so much to the lovely people who commented. The winner this time is Tatkis all the way from Russia! Congratulations. Please email me your address and I will post the pattern to you on Tuesday.
Margot brought this lovely quilt to show us on Wednesday night. It is one of Cathy's mystery quilts from a few years ago. Margot has done a wonderful job choosing the colours and then doing it all in needleturn applique. She has also quilted it herself. Fantastic work, Margot.
Hobbysew is having a sale and I went to work on Tuesday determined that I didn't need ANYTHING! Oh well, it was all too tempting. The customers kept bringing lovely fabrics over to me to cut and I just had to have some too. I was also tempted by all these trims. I could just see lots of trimmed Santas!
Here is my pile of fabrics! I did get a fair bit to use as backings perhaps.
This one appealed to me and I have no idea what I am going to do with it. It would be a nice backing or lining for a bag or..... who knows! I just liked the pictures and the colours. One of the Tuesday stitching ladies bought this one to use when making her hexagons. She'll put a little picture in the centre of each hexagon.

Gorgeous Fabrics

On Saturday, there was a knock on the door and these fabrics were delivered! They are so lovely. It is Lynette Anderson's Christmas range and it is delightful. She has used it in her new Christmas BOM which is so nice. There is also a beautiful free pattern for the fabrics as well on one of the websites.

Some new fabrics

Had a lovely surprise in the post this week. These fabrics, from the In the Pink 2 range, came from the US. I am collecting them to make the parts of the Block of the Month called "Breast of Friends" in the "Homespun" magazine No.68. The first block is by Leanne's House and is a lovely block. I am NOT starting it yet though am tempted! I might get to it once all the blocks in My Home or Yours are finished and a few other UFOs are put together.

This is Leanne's block.
