Finally finished Scandinavian Rose. I did love doing these red stitcheries but there were many of them! So good to have this quilt completely finished. I hand quilted it (not very well but it is holding together) and have added a label.
I have also been keeping up with Stitch Therapy 365.
I enjoyed playing with my new ball winder and wound my first skein of wool. So much quicker that rolling the ball by hand.
On Saturday I headed to the Folk Festival and enjoyed some great music and yummy food. It is always a good day out.
The Spooky men are always so good!

The Folk Festival
I had such a lovely day enjoying good music and delicious food at the National Folk Festival. Great fun! These pictures are not fantastic but give you a little feel for the kind of acts that can be seen.

The Folk Festival and some stitching
I have been so busy with stitching days lately but now have time to share a few other bits of stitching and also a few photos of the Folk Festival. I love going to the Folk Festival and even though we only got back on the Thursday before Easter I had bought a couple of tickets. I went on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon and evening. The acts were really good and the food is always a treat! Just can't do without my German sausage, some profetjees and Gozleme. Here are just a few of the acts that I managed to see.
Last week, classes started again and Lynn has been very busy while we were in recess. She has made this lovely hanging and has painted the hanger to match her stitchery.
She had also finished her cushion. She changed the words to make it useful all year round, instead of just at Christmas. She had also put together her Chateau Hexagon quilt! How lovely does it look? She used a kit from Hobbysew and the colours look really beautiful. Great job, Lynn.
In the evening, we only had a small class but it was very nice to catch up once again. Margaret was binding this gorgeous quilt.
Linda has been busy too and has made this lovely little purse and bag.
I have been stitching too and made this little zippered purse as a gift. It was fun to make. Might need to make one for me!

Easter
We have had a lovely Easter weekend here. I hope you have had a happy weekend too. We went to church and enjoyed 2 special services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday remembering what Easter is all about.
We definitely enjoyed some chocolate too! These were for the whole family....not just us!
On Saturday I had a wonderful day at the Folk festival as usual. I just loved this concert with Fred Smith and the Spooky Men but here were lots of other really good performances as well. There was also lots of delicious food and I enjoyed my German kransky, Gozleme and some Profetjees (dutch pancakes) very much.
On Sunday we (note it says we) went for a ride with friends. I am trying (stop laughing) to get used to riding as we are going on a Bike and Barge holiday in France in June. I rode 18 kilometres!!!! I am very achy and glad I made it. Thank heavens for the flat and downhill sections.
We stopped along the way for coffee and these little fellows just needed an icecream! The rode in the box on the back of Lyle's bike!
Sammy isn't sitting but is commando crawling everywhere. He now scoots over for you to pick him up. He is so busy and active it is hard to hold onto him!

We also saw a bit of these gorgeous little fellows to celebrate Easter and for an early birthday celebration for me on Monday. They are growing up so much. Benny is now sitting really well.

Happy Easter
I do hope you have all had a happy Easter break and have enjoyed plenty of chocolate eggs and remembered the true meaning of Easter as well. We have a few naughty eggs to share here too. Can't have Easter without chocolate!
We headed off to church and there was a lovely symbol of the Easter story using this cross. On Friday it was just a bare wooden cross and today the congregation decorated with flowers to represent new life and the resurrection. It looked beautiful.I must admit that I love to head to the Folk Festival each Easter here in Canberra. It is always great to hear all the wonderful musicians and to enjoy the stalls and especially the delicious foods. I made sure I had my German sausage and some Turkish Gozleme as well. I only went for one day so made the most of it and stayed till quite late.
Saturday's weather was perfect!
It is hard to take pictures inside but we enjoyed some Spanish music with dancing too.
One of our favourite bands was Dry Bones from Canada. They were terrific musicians and very funny too.

The Folk Festival and some stitching progress
I attempted to take a couple of photos of some of the acts at the folk festival. There are so many talented musicians who play at these events. I really enjoyed my Saturday at the festival.
I have been stitching too and enjoyed having a bit more time over the weekend to work on my many BOMs. This is block 1 of Christmas Fun by Lynette Anderson. The gingerbread man at the back looks like a ghost! Might have to colour him in! The little patchwork blocks at the top at only 3" square!!
I have finally made the patchwork blocks to go at the top of the second block of Scandinavian Christmas. This is another quilt I am making that is designed by Lynette. I do put the machining off though the patchwork blocks really add to the design!
Here are blocks 1 and 2 stitched together.
