This and that

The weeks fly by and I need to catch up! I have been stitching and have continued working slowly on my Garden quilt. I am enjoying working on this.

I have also finished this cute stitching pouch which is another gorgeous design by Anni Downs.

We were very impressed to see this gorgeous stitching that Jayne is working on! It is just gorgeous.

It has also been book week last week. The miss wasn't really well but managed to be at school for the parade. She looked so cute in the lovely dress that Mummy had made and an old raffia hat that I made many years ago. One of the big boys and his class in Perth dressed up as Disney princesses or characters!!!

On Wednesday we had breakfast our in Gold Creek and enjoyed seeing this yarn bombing outside the new wool shop.

Stitching progress

I have been busy this month catching up on the Owl and Hare Hollow BOM. I have completed Part 4 which is very exciting. It is nice to be up to date.

As part 4 is done I was able to work on a few other projects. I have finished this lovely bag designed by Anni Downs. The front and back stitching was done but it needed putting together.

Progress

I am feeling very pleased as I have made some progress on my ongoing projects. So excited to have finished the final border of the Vermont Summer Medallion. Lots of hand stitching here.

I vowed to myself that after the Medallion top was done I would go back to my Yoko Saito Mystery quilt (started years ago) and put it together. It didn't even take that much time!!!

I also made up this cute pouch that I had stitched on the retreat.

Plus two more little hats for the hospital babies.
So lovely to be able to tick off a few more steps on these projects.

Home again

We headed back to the airport on Thursday for our flight but just needed to visit Chrissie's shop in Ballan on our way. It is always a delight. I couldn't resist this cute tin and some ricrac and earrings!

Here are some of the goodies I bought during our time away. At AQC I bought a kit from Anni Downs which I loved, some pigma pens and some woven wool felt.
In Daylesford, I couldn't resist this beautiful Scottish cardigan. I tried to buy one in 2019 when I was in Scotland but had no luck! Very naughty but it is gorgeous.
Not much to show on the stitching front even though I was away a whole week. I appliqued and stitched the front of this pouch and knitted most of one sock on a circular needle. It was fun to learn a new skill. I did prepare some hexies and started another stitchery. My stitching is obviously slow stitching or perhaps I chat too much!

AQC and Millrose Cottage

A few of us headed away last week to Melbourne for the AQC and then for a stitching retreat. We enjoyed our time away especially the quilt show and the lovely towns that we visited in Victoria. On Thursday we flew out at 7.15am!!! Thanks Virgin for changing our early flight to an even earlier one! We then had a day at the AQC. The Exhibition Centre is so gorgeous and it was fun to see all the stalls and catch up with many designers.

So lovely to catch up with Anni and Pete of Hatched and Patched.
Here are some of the amazing quilts.

These miniature quilts were made by Kumiko Frydl and were just wonderful!

We had a delicious dinner at an Italian restaurant and then headed to bed. On Friday we picked up our car and headed to lovely Ballan. We couldn't resist a visit to Millrose Cottage on the way to Chrissie's retreat house in Ballan.
