Friday's excursion to the Southern Highlands

A few of us had a lovely day put last Friday when we went to the Southern Highlands for a visit. Our first stop was in Mittagong to visit this lovely patchwork shop called "Timeless Threads". It is an old house covered in Boston ivy and we all had to get a few fabrics and patterns.
This is the room in the back garden were they run classes.
Here is Penny and a wall of the ivy.
This was one of the beautiful quilts on display. I think it is so lovely but I am fairly keen on blue!

Here is a closeup.

Here is one of the lovely corners in the shop. I just love shops in old houses with their little rooms full of special fabrics and trims.

We then headed to Palate Pleasures for a delicious lunch.

Visit to Berrima

Penny and I stopped at Berrima on the way to Sydney and had a lovely lunch of yummy soup at the Old Bakery.

This is one of the cute shops that are in Berrima. You can easily spend a day browsing in this lovely town.
We then HAD to go to Berrima patchwork which was lovely. Penny bought a Bareroots pattern. Berrima patchwork has a great range of Bareroots patterns and most of them are made up into samples which makes them even more tempting!
We then went to Bowral and had a quick visit to My Place in Bowral. These are some older photos taken by Lisa from her blog as I didn't take any. Lovely shop.
