Stitching and knitting....

I did do some stitching and knitting on my long train trip though I also enjoyed a couple of books. I started this cross stitch while at Corrimal and finished it on the trip. Just need a Santa to do between the trees.
This is a tiny stitchery for the front of a little bag designed by Natalie Bird. Nice and easy to stitch on the plane.
This shawl is a fun easy knit as all the stitches are plain!
Since coming home, I have tried to get into the sewing room and have managed to put together these little cushions. Only 3 more Santa ones to make!

A few of us bought this lovely pattern from AK Traditions last year and here is my felt rabbit and his little friend in his backpack. There is a little girl one to make too.

Stitching on holidays

I did manage a bit of stitching and knitting on holidays. I enjoyed knitting on the cruise as Ma and I joined a knitting group each sea day. I had bought this little kit, thread, needles and pattern at Craft Alive and managed to get it knitted. Still need to block it.
These two were easy and fun to stitch on the plane. They are from a little Christmas quilt pattern by Marg Low.

I did the stitching for this little house and finished it off when I returned home.

This little Gail Pan stitchery was also started and then finished recently. It was lovely using the Cottage Garden variegated thread.
So I have finally caught up on the holiday, Now to catch up on June!

Stitching.....

There has been a little progress on my various projects recently as well as a few starts! Many years ago I started stitching some half inch liberty hexagons and they were safely stored away till last week. I had always planned to create a mini dilly bag inspired by the ones I made using Judy Newman's beautiful pattern. Here it is! It is very small and fairly useless but I love it anyway!
I have popped into the sewing room to start piecing my Simple Life blocks too. Here is the first block and some nine patches.
I have been working on these lovely Christmas stitcheries by Marg Low.

Just the other day I started this lovely little pencil case. I bought the kit in Melbourne recently so it was easy to just start as it was all printed and ready to go. It is a very special pattern by Anni Downs and is all hand stitched!
Nice to catch up with Roni at stitching last week and we all admired her cute Clips bag! What a good idea.
Roni was also working on this cute little stitchery by Anni Downs. Must trace a couple of these to make. The pattern was a free one offered a while ago.

Great work...and the grandies

Lynda brought in some of her lovely work to share with us last week. She finished her zippered pouch and it looks great.
She also started stitching these cute little snowmen for a friend who loves the snow.
Lynne has also finished another beautiful cross stitch. Isn't it gorgeous.
Meanwhile, I am still enjoying the stitcheries from The Simple Life book. They are a bit addictive.
I haven't shown the grandies for a while! They are all such fun and are all changing so much. Here are a few recent snaps.

Last week....

It seems that Monday has become blogging day! Here are some lovely finishes from the social and class stitchers. It is always inspiring to see what people are making. Jan had been working on these lovely fairy stitcheries and has put together the quilt. Her granddaughter will love this.

Jayne has recently finished this very useful pin cushion. Looks great stitched on this lovely mauve hanky linen.
Lynda's little grandie is so spoilt too! Lynda has made this doll and these great skittles! Both are patterns by Rosalie Dekker.

Lynne has been busy again and has made this lovely bag and 2 matching pouches.
She also stitched this lovely embroidery and added it to another useful pouch.
Lynne has had fun creating these funny fellows in cross stitch.
I have been making too, slowly. I just HAD to find some knitting so started this scarf in lovely soft alpaca wool.
I ran out of hand work so started this lovely quilt, The Simple Life, by Anni Downs. I have had the kit for a long time so thought it was time to start.
And...I just need to put together this little wool purse now that the applique and stitching is done.
