Tilda Santa and some other stitching

I can't believe it is so long since I last posted! I have been busy and have just completed the Santa from the Tilda book, Homemade and Happy. I have been wanting to make him for a while but he was such a lot of work though I do love the result. First there was quite a bit of applique.

Then his coat front, parts of his pants, the sleeves and the hat and beard had to be hand quilted. I think I should have made my quilting bigger as this took ages! I ended up with holes in my fingers (I have never been very good at using a thimble).
And....ta dah....here he is!
I also forgot to show you last month's Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs block!
Lastly, I completed another small stitchery for the United Stitches project.
Best get organised as classes start today for fourth term! I might take Santa for show and tell.

Foxley Village finished!

I can't believe that this quilt is finally finished. Lots of binding happened here last week! I am just amazed at the beautiful quilting by my very talented friend, Robyn, of Plain and Fancy. The quilting adds so much to the final presentation of the quilt. Thanks too to Natalie Bird for the lovely design and to Tilda for the great fabrics. The pattern was a BOM in the Homespun magazine in 2016.
Click on these pictures to see the quilting details.

Here is my label for the quilt.

Catching up

It was great to catch up with my lovely class girls again last Wednesday after the long Christmas break. Many of them had been busy stitching. I managed to capture just a few finishes with the camera. Lynda has been especially busy and has made a wonderful baby quilt using the runner blocks (from the retreat) and adding lots of others. Looks so lovely with all the Tilda fabrics.

Jayne has also been stitching and has finished these gorgeous bags!

I have done a little catching up with my Splendid Sampler blocks. Only a few more to go and then that adventure will be finished.....other than piecing the quilt etc!

Over the last few weeks I have been working on my Anderson's Farm and have a top!!! So exciting to see it at this stage!
I should be doing UFOs but couldn't resist this BOM! Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs was too tempting. Here is block one and the second block is below. This is my kind of stitching. It is all hand work!

I also ordered my blog books for 2016. Such fun looking over the year's stitching, family times and holidays in these books.

Stitching in the Hills

We had a wonderful weekend of stitching at Stitching in the Hills at Warrambui in Murrumbateman. We were blessed with lovely weather and it was great to catch up with dear friends and chat and share such good times. As we drove out the countryside was so lovely and green.
Here are the bags all ready before the ladies.
Celia and Diane made these gorgeous little handbags with chocolates in them to also decorate the tables.
Here are our projects for the weekend. It was so lovely working with the gorgeous Tilda ranges of fabric.

The ladies were all very busy stitching, chatting and just enjoying a lovely time away from normal life. We also enjoyed the plentiful food!

On Saturday evening we had a pastel theme and that was fun.

Fiona finished her little scissor keeper before anyone else!
These are the goodies that were in the kits.

Thank you so much to the ladies for my very special gift. That was so kind. I will enjoy drinking my tea from this beautiful cup.

Tilda Showcase

We had a great night at Hobbysew last Friday for a Tilda Showcase. The girls at the shop did a fabulous job decorating with lots of Tilda goodies and provided a delicious supper. It was wonderful to see the samples that Two Green Zebras had organised by designers and makers all over Australia, and some by Tone Finnanger too. It was very motivating.
