Two quilts finished.....

It is hard to believe but after about 4 years these quilts are completely finished! Vignette and In My Garden are bound and labelled! Whew!

Vignette and In my Garden are quilted!!

On Monday I went to pick up my quilts, Vignette and In my Garden, from my very talented quilter, Robyn of Plain and Fancy. I had chosen thread colours but really couldn't imagine how she was going to quilt them so left it up to her! She had done the most amazing job of both of them. I am so thrilled with them as the quilting has added so much to the quilts. You can click on the photos to make them bigger if you want to see the detail.

I am amazed at how Robyn can quilt so beautifully and also artistically work out what will work!

A bit of stitching

Lots of kits are being made here so there hasn't been too much stitching time! Stitching on the Lake is on in a little over a week so there is much to prepare. Can't wait to show you the projects next week.

 I have still been stitching a little. This block of Scandinavian Rose was mostly done so managed to finish it off over the weekend at Millrose Cottage.

 This little stitchery is from a needlecase pattern from Anni Downs. I have had the kit for a while and it was fun to stitch.

 I also worked on a label for the Vignette quilt which has just been quilted but Robyn. Her amazing quilting needs a post of its own.

 Last week I put the borders on this lovely stitchery by Leanne Beasley. It just needs a little quilting and some buttons and then binding.

 Finally, I have started to make a few Christmas bits and pieces. I am very late this year!

A wedding, Father's day and some stitching

Yesterday we were helpful grandparents and helped with the little men at a wedding. Mummy was a bridesmaid and so we were minding boys so they could have their pictures taken with the bride and groom and then be whisked off to bed at home. They were very good but it was busy keeping them amused when they were quite tired and not all that well either. it was a perfect day though for a wedding.

It was a good feeling to get them in the photograph and then we headed home with them....feeding them cheese and sandwiches and singing loudly to keep them awake till we made it home.

 The wedding was at the Botanical gardens which is lovely but the grass was wet and there were so many little stones etc for little men to want to eat!

Today is Father's day and Pa helped Amy create this picture with the little men for their Daddy. So cute!

 It feels so long since I have blogged but I have been stitching. Here is block 3 of the Chateau Hexagon BOM. Great to be up to date as block 4 comes out next week.

I have also finished stitching the last side of the Vignette quilt. Now for time and inclination to do all the piecing!

 I have also been stitching some of the smaller retreat projects ready for class next term. These need sewing together too.

It is always fun to do a little canvas work.

 So lovely to see Karen's Whimsy and Wonder at the shop on Wednesday. It looks fantastic.

 Sue has also been busy with some intricate counted thread work!

Two finished and some progress

Hooray! Finally a finish! I have been working slowly on Scandinavian Christmas since last year and only just finished the binding and the label a few weeks ago when it came back from Robyn Cawdron, my special quilter. I am very pleased with it!

 Here is the label.

 This sewing pocket was started in March at Urban Stitches in Sydney, has been hand stitched for a while and took only a short time to sew together! I wish I didn't procrastinate with the machining.

 Even more exciting is that I finally put together the last piece of stitching for the Vignette quilt by Leanne Beasley. I have left this quilt 3/4 done and haven't had time or the inclination to continue till now. There is still plenty of patchwork that needs doing but at least I am back working on the quilt.

 I have been enjoying a little crocheting too. I bought this variegated Noro wool in Melbourne and am making a scarf....again!
