Lovely show and tell

We enjoyed our Christmas party for the afternoon girls on Wednesday. It has been lovely spending each Wednesday afternoon with this special group of ladies.
The food everyone brought along was amazing! Even though we mostly ate and chatted, it was great so see some show and tell. Jayne has made this wonderful whale for a special friend. She added some felt on the back to make it a useful needle case.

She also made this beautiful mat with a seaside theme as well!

Lynne has been so busy and has cross stitched these wonderful tiles!!!

She also made this useful pincushion and a lovely brooch.

Roni had some wonderful finishes too. Here is her punch needle and stitched cushion.
She also made this great pillow case for her grown up son.....who doesn't love Christmas like Mum does, so it is a bit of a joke! I think it is amazing. Can you see the dog driving the car?
Roni was also wearing this lovely brooch which she just whipped up.
I was also so lucky as Roni made me this wonderful reindeer. He is so special!
The evening girls have been busy too. Judy has finished her Marg Low decoration and so has Margaret.

This week, I have been making the Christmas shirts for the grandchildren! I decided to make them all the same but then the big boys decided they needed theirs to be a little different. Sam's Santa has glasses and Ben's one has gifts!

Sewing and decorating...

I have been busy last week decorating the house. Quite pleased that it is all done! Here is the tree all decked out!
Lovely to see what the ladies have been making last week. Diana has made these great decorations using felt. Another lovely pattern by Marg Low.
Jayne is hooked on punchneedle. We all loved this scene.
Sue has been busy too and has made this gorgous little bag as a gift.
I finished off my little cross stitch decorations. I plan to put these into some of my cards.
Little miss was given a cute Santa bear at the chemist yesterday. She loved him.

Wednesday stitching and some progress

Guess who came to Hobbysew on Wednesday morning for a little visit? We minded her for a short time while Mum and Dad went and did a few messages. We were all a little disappointed that Alice didn't wake up for a cuddle!
In class in the afternoon, it was lovely to see Roni's lovely finishes. She made this lovely purse from a pattern by Lynette Anderson.
She also finished this little canvas work that I designed for one of our stitching days.

I've been having some fun stitching and finishing some Christmas projects. In term 3 we usually do Christmas projects so we are doing some of the lovely things we made last year at Stitching on the Lake and also making some of the lovely projects in Stitch it for Christmas, by Lynette Anderson. This is a canvas work designed by Fiona and I just needed to sew it together.
These lovely stockings are in the book. The one on the right is the correct size and the one on the left is one I made earlier when I had enlarged the pattern incorrectly. It is rather cute!
These decorations are in the book too and were quick and easy to make.
I am loving stitching this gorgeous mat with Lynette's beautiful reindeers on it. Quite a bit if stitching still to do but it is good fun. I do love Christmas projects!

Show and Tell and some stitching

It was so exciting to see Paddy's Village Square quilt on Wednesday. Robyn has just finished quilting it and it looks wonderful. Paddy has needleturned all her houses and the trees are embroidered and appliqued. Paddy is going to add some buttons too.

Karen has finished her lovely painted button scene too.
I have been stitching too and managed to finish the embroidery on block 3 of Scandinavian Christmas. It now needs 4 little pieced blocks to finish it off.
As the third Vignette magazine arrived recently, I thought I had better start tracing as there are many flowers to stitch this time with 3 blocks to make.
I also had fun last week using my punchneedle to make this little Santa decoration. He will be part of our classes next term.

Some finished projects

I enjoyed doing the punchneedle on this little bag pattern from "The World as it Should be" and managed to put it together yesterday.
Here are the woven wool felt decorations I have been stitching over the last few weeks. They are from a pattern by Anni Downes called Christmas Berry Baubles.

Here is the finished pattern for the wooden Button hearts that I am teaching at Hobbysew at the Christmas day in November. We thought we would offer the pattern and the button at the shop for those who can't come to the stitching day.
I am really pleased with the photos taken with my little digital camera.

Stitching on the Lake

Here are the tables ready for the stitching day. We bought pink bags this year from Country Bumpkin and they looked good plus are reusable. In each bag, there was a folder with the patterns and 6 kits ready to start the projects. We are nearly ready for the stitchers to arrive.
Here is one table hard at work. Megan and Maria tried the punchneedle project and they did very well. They found it much easier than expected.
Fiona and I found these lovely aprons with cupcakes on them which fitted in with the pink theme.
