Little bits and pieces

Not sure where the time seems to fly to. I have been a little uninspired of late but receiving my latest BOM spurred me on. I do love a little wool applique. This is block 7 of The Santa, the Tree.....

I have slowly been knitting this scarf. I had another pattern but it needed too much counting so this 3 row pattern was much easier.
Another simmering project are some advent bags. The stitcheries were done years ago and I never got around to making the hanging so decided bags would be good. They might be ready for Christmas!
We loved seeing Roni's amazing Show and tell last Wednesday. These hearts are tiny and we all want to make some!!!
Roni has also been making rope baskets and they are wonderful!

We have also been seeing the kids! Here is Mr Jack listening to a book!
We also had the school cross country a few weeks ago. All the kids did so well and tried so hard.

So much to show and tell

I had a lovely Wednesday again with social stitching and then classes in the afternoon and evening. It was so good to see everyone and to see what they have been stitching. It might fill a few blog posts! Donna does the most exquisite wool embroidered blankets and she is working on an Australian native one and this is the centre so far. It is worth clicking on it and making it larger to see the detail. She designs it all herself using some embroidery books for inspiration.
This is in a corner of the blanket.
Jan has been making the loveliest shoe bags to use when travelling. I think you would have to have very beautiful shoes to put in these bags! After stitching some of us went out to Gold Creek to have lunch at the gorgeous tea shop out there. I really had dessert only and had the yummy dutch profetjies and they were so good. It is well worth a visit and I hope to go again!
Sally, in the evening class, has a brand new grandchild and has made this lovely bunny quilt for her.

Carol came to class last night with a whole bag of finished things. Fantastic work, Carol. We thought she might not miss a few if they jumped into our bags! Here are just 2 of them. This is a Nancy Halverson design and doesn't it look great on the wire stand. I wonder who has one of those stands hidden in her cupboard without a hanging on it?

Carol has also finished her little chocolate basket from one of my patterns from an earlier stitching day. Looks great, Carol.
You will have to wait till tomorrow to see the rest of Carol's and the other girls' lovely stitching.

A beautiful blanket and lovely stitching

Dona brought in her wonderful blanket/hanging on Wednesday. I shared her delightful sheep earlier on and now the blanket is finished. It is so special. She has even bought a little sheep to match!

Donna has stitched a little hanging to go with it which has the words of a children's book that her girls loved when they were small.
We all loved seeing this very special little birthday basket. Najelle has stitched it beautifully and it is from Anni Downs Celebrations pattern.
She has stitched a few others ready to make as well. This is the purple one. I gather making up the basket is quite time consuming but the result is fantastic.

Great class show and tell

It is so exciting to see all the lovely things the girls at class are doing and finishing. It was our last afternoon and evening classes yesterday and I will miss seeing the ladies and being able to share their beautiful work with you.
Sue has been making some very special lanyards for Christmas gifts. This one, her own design, is for her musical son-in-law. I gather he loses his keys often and this will be very useful for him.
Sue has also made another one for a family member who stitches and knits.
We also enjoyed seeing Sue's finished stockings. Don't they look lovely?
Jill shared her wonderful little chocolate basket with us. Her choice of Nancy Halverson fabric looks fantastic. This is one side......
.......and here is the other side.
