Progress

I am feeling very pleased as I have made some progress on my ongoing projects. So excited to have finished the final border of the Vermont Summer Medallion. Lots of hand stitching here.

I vowed to myself that after the Medallion top was done I would go back to my Yoko Saito Mystery quilt (started years ago) and put it together. It didn't even take that much time!!!

I also made up this cute pouch that I had stitched on the retreat.

Plus two more little hats for the hospital babies.
So lovely to be able to tick off a few more steps on these projects.

A few things

A few things to share today. I have enjoyed another birthday. I was very spoilt with lunch out with my family, morning tea with the Wednesday morning girls and a yummy cake at afternoon stitching too! Feeling old but glad to be able to enjoy lots of fun outings! Here are a few pictures of lunch out. The miss had had an easter outing beforehand!

Benny just enjoyed his book and of course his hamburger.
I have been enjoying some cross stitching recently. These will make some cute decorations.

I have finally begun adding the applique to the borders of my Vermont Summer Medallions quilt.
I had a lovely email today from Alison who still reads this blog! Thanks Alison for your message. Here is a delightful pouch she has made recently using a gorgeous old doily.
I must go and pack my bag as I am heading to Melbourne early tomorrow to go to the AQC and to a retreat in Ballan. So exciting!

Stitching

The ladies at afternoon stitching have made some gorgeous things. It is always such fun when we get together and chat, eat and stitch. Roni has made these delightful decorations.

Beth wowed us with this very special bag!

On Wednesday evening it was lovely to see this gorgeous bag that Margaret has made for her daughter. So so cute.

Judy has made these cute easter baskets and has made felt bunnies to go in them.
Anita and Deanna went on retreat and made so many quilt tops! I didn't get any pictures except this one of this great zippered pouch that Anita was given.
Barbara is making these delightful easter hangings.
I have finally made my way back to the sewing room and made up this little purse. Lovely pattern from Anni Downs' new book.
I have also braved making the big borders on my Vermont Summer Medallion quilt. I was a little hesitant cutting the large pieces and adding the triangles but getting there now.
I also received last year's blog book. It is pretty skinny as not that much happened last year but nice to have it in print form.

A bit of stitching

I seem to have lost my sewing mojo just a little lately. Before I went away, I was very motivated by my Vermont Summer Medallion and sewed the next border on. I also started preparing the starry shapes that go on the last border.....but that is as far as I got.

I am working on this little purse from Anni Downs' new book. I do love little hexagons.
And... I put these two stitcheries into their hoops.

Wednesdays are so motivating! I just love this tenny tiny tree that Roni has stitched.
Jayne has been busy too. This lovely journal cover is so special.

Jayne has also made this wonderful pouch!!

This week Roni shared these cute easter rabbits. They are so gorgeous

Stitching

Happy new year everyone. Fancy it being 2023!! It has taken me a while to get back into normal life but even though the decorations are still up, it was lovely to head off to stitching last Wednesday. Jayne had some gorgeous show and tell of a very special gift she received. These cloths are beautifully decorated and are for wrapping things, even a picnic. They are Furshiki cloths and are a Japanese idea. I just loved how they were embroidered.

Jayne's friend also made this tiny basket!
Plus Jayne received a gorgeous printed and hand dyed scarf.
I have finally headed back to my latest quilt, the Vermont Summer Medallion. Most of border 2 was already sewn but they need corners and sewing onto the centre.

Border 4 has hourglass blocks so here is a start.
I also finished this free stitchery from @em_bea_roidery on Instagram. It was a fun stitch.
