Hi from isolation

Hasn't it been a crazy week? I always like staying home but this is ridiculous! I am so missing my social events. Thankfully we have social media to keep us in touch. We have even had church online with Zoom! We do live in amazing times. I have found it hard to get motivated and seem to take so long to get going on these days of plenty of time! I have been working on some of my projects. The top border of Fairy Kisses is done and I have started the bottom one.

 This stitchery label came with the BOM and it is ready for when the quilt is finished. Note the start date of 2004!

 I have been meaning to crochet another dishcloth. Here it is.

 I have also started a sleeveless jacket for Miss Alice. This is the In Threes pattern, which I have made several times before.

 Couldn't resist this free Moda Village pattern. I am planning to do it with only scraps if possible.

 My hexi flowers have all been hand pieced. I placed them roughly on the sewing room floor to see how they look. I have some aqua fabric to use in between the flowers, which I hope will look OK.

Hope you are all enjoying some quality stitching time in these difficult times. We are not even seeing the grandchildren now which is hard!

Some progress..

It has been nice to have some stitching time over the last few weeks. I did finally put away all the decorations, which did take a while! I have been working on a few ufos. I started to sew together my Splendid Sampler blocks from a few years ago. I am quite enjoying the process as the French General fabrics look so nice. Here is row 1 and then 5 rows done.

 I had stitched this lovely Kathy Schmitz Santa earlier in the year so it was nice to put it together into a cushion.

 This one has taken ages. It is the Stitched Circle Basket from the Stitching Day in September. It is a lovely design by Lynette Anderson. I am not feeling too confidant about putting it together

 It was lovely to catch up with the ladies on Wednesday. Jayne showed us this gorgeous little puppy pin cushion.

 Roni had made these amazing cross stitch decorations. So beautiful!

And a memory! My Amy made this little nativity when she was small. It was fairly ruined but thought it was worth taking a picture of it!

Lovely work...

I forgot to share some lovely show and tell from last week. It was lovely to see Marlene and she shared this amazing hardanger tablecloth that her sister made for her birthday! This picture doesn't do this justice as it was so beautiful and this is only one little bit.

 We just loved this little quilt that Margaret is making using a panel by Anni Downs!

 Several of the ladies are making Natalie Bird's lovely new BOM (you can get it at Hobbysew). Judy has finished her first block and we all felt that it is so much prettier in real life!

 Great to see Lynn back after her holidays. She had been to Lynette Anderson's day in Queensland and had made these lovely projects since then! Both were so beautiful.

 Natalie came too and shared this amazing bunting designed by Rosalie Dekker. It was a lot of work but is such a special decoration.

Last week....

It seems that Monday has become blogging day! Here are some lovely finishes from the social and class stitchers. It is always inspiring to see what people are making. Jan had been working on these lovely fairy stitcheries and has put together the quilt. Her granddaughter will love this.

 Jayne has recently finished this very useful pin cushion. Looks great stitched on this lovely mauve hanky linen.

 Lynda's little grandie is so spoilt too! Lynda has made this doll and these great skittles! Both are patterns by Rosalie Dekker.

 Lynne has been busy again and has made this lovely bag and 2 matching pouches.

 She also stitched this lovely embroidery and added it to another useful pouch.

 Lynne has had fun creating these funny fellows in cross stitch.

 I have been making too, slowly. I just HAD to find some knitting so started this scarf in lovely soft alpaca wool.

 I ran out of hand work so started this lovely quilt, The Simple Life, by Anni Downs. I have had the kit for a long time so thought it was time to start.

And...I just need to put together this little wool purse now that the applique and stitching is done.

Playschool and some sewing

Last Sunday afternoon, we headed to the Albert Hall to watch a live Playschool show. The girls and I went to one many, many years ago in the Bay! It was great fun and the children loved it and so did we!

 Lovely to see this quilt finished on Wednesday. Joan has been doing all this intricate needleturn for a long time and has now hand quilted it.

 In between getting ready for the stitching days and doing a bit of knitting, I have been trying to catch up on my Splendid sampler blocks.

 

This is just one corner of a complicated foundation pieced ball!

 I have also just pieced June's button club block for Anderson's Farm.

Some stitching

Lovely to see some great show and tell on Wednesday. Lesley has had her gorgeous Christmas quilt quilted and it is all finished. Looks wonderful. Lesley. It is a Hugs and Kisses BOM.

 Jayne has been very busy too. She has enlarged the little bag in the The Story of My Day book and it looks so good. It fits her book and ongoing projects in perfectly.

 Marlene has finished her verson of the stitching bag too and made it into a zippered pouch! Looks so good.

 This is the back all covered in 1/2" hexagons. I think Marlene is hooked on hexies now!

 I have been stitching too and have been very naughty and have now started 3 big projects once again. I wonder when my UFOs will ever get done. I appliqued the first block of Foxley Village in the Homespun magazine. Now to do the piecing.

 I also finished the first block of Lynette Anderson's Mystery button club, called Anderson's Farm. Hobbysew has the patterns if you are interested in joining me on this journey.

 Lastly, I joined the Splendid Sampler stitchalong!!! There are 2x 6" blocks to make each week. Here is block 1.

Must get a move on now and pack up some bags etc for Stitching on the lake tomorrow! Looking forward to another wonderful day of stitching and fun.
