Everlasting Choc-chip Cookies

There isn't a photo this time as we have managed to eat all the choc chip cookies! I took a plate of these biscuits to my class on Wednesday night and promised I would post the recipe. I am warning you that they are NOT everlasting at all as they are too yummy and get eaten too quickly.

The person that gave me the recipe did say that they freeze well. We eat them too quickly here to have any to freeze. The full recipe makes over 80 biscuits so I usually do half. I have also lowered the amount of choc bits as there were too many. The original recipe had 500g of milk chocolate buttons!! The halved amounts are on the right.

5 cups SR Flour        2 1/2 cups SR flour
1 1/4 cups caster sugar   5/8 cup caster sugar
500g butter -softened  250g butter -softened
400 g condensed milk     200g condensed milk
250g white choc buttons        125g white choc buttons
250g milk choc buttons      125g milk choc buttons

Cream the butter, add sugar and beat thoroughly. Mix in the condensed milk. Fold in the flour and mix thoroughly. Add chopped choc bits. Cook for 15 minutes (I find they take about 10 minutes in my oven) at 180 degrees.

Enjoy!

Wednesday stitching

Yesterday some of the ladies at stitching had some show and tell. This is Penny's lovely quilt for her friend's little fellow, Felix. What a lucky little boy.
Marilyn has finished her Leanne's House quilt. It is a design by Leanne Beasley and is a delightful quilt with piecing, applique and lots of embroidery. It has been quilted by Robyn Cawdron. Marilyn has done a lovely job of this quilt.

Penny's lovely gift

Penny shared these lovely projects with us last week at stitching. She is sending them off to England as a gift. I think her friend will be thrilled with these. This is Larry the lamb and he is a pin cushion.
Then Penny designed this scissor keeper to match. Isn't that clever. I'm planning to make one as it is so cute.
Then she also designed this needlecase to match with a fluffy, towelling Larry on the front.
What a lovely gift!

Queanbeyan Stitching Day

On Sunday we had a stitching day for Queanbeyan Quilters. The projects were the same though there were only 15 ladies at this one. It was a lovely day and the ladies enjoyed the painting especially. Thanks to Pam and her helpers for organising a lovely lunch of homemade soup and some yummy treats for morning tea. I was a little remiss in taking photos and only took this one as we were setting up. Emma from Country Inspirations came again with her lovely country wares and Rebecca joined us too from Cute as a Button Patchwork  with some great fabrics, kits and books from Art to Heart.

Stitching day continued

Here is Penny and her cousin, Linda, who came all the way from Queensland to join us.
The three sisters, Carol, Wendy and Kay along with Stella and Margaret.
Here are some of my Wednesday night girls. I think that Linda looks very relaxed! She had been busy making Lucy the bear and needed a break!
This was afternoon tea!!!! On the left is buttercake with a date filling and on the right, strawberry shortcake. We were very spoilt!

Shops at the stitching day

Emma and Stella from Country Inspirations brought some of their lovely country goodies to the stitching day.

Laraine came with her beautiful laser cut buttons and patterns. She has a website at Up in Annies Room.
Peter came (as our only male!) t0 look after Hobbysew's stall.  The ladies all enjoyed having a chance to shop at each of these stalls.

Samples and more stitching girls

Here are the samples.
More ladies hard at work. There was  plenty and chat and laughter as well.
Jo and Lyndal enjoyed their first stitching day. Jo made little Lucy bear and Lyndal worked on the little village.
Here I am with Christa, Maree and Adrienne. So lovely to catch up with everyone.
