Even more show and tell

There were so many lovely finished quilts that I kept taking pictures of them on Saturday! Hope you aren't bored! One of my class girls, Jill, has finished her Santa hanging.

Here are two versions of one of Janet's classes. So different but so effective.

Anita showed her Melly and Me horse and her stitching bag, made using a Bareroots pattern..

This is a version of Cathy's Season's quilt.

This is another of Cathy's classes....I think it was the beginner applique class.

This quilt was so long and had so many blocks in it and looked really effective.

This is a Catherine Wheels quilt.

We have some amazing quilters coming to the shop.

More Christmas party Show and tell

It will take a while to show you the many lovely quilts etc that were shown on Saturday. This nativity was so special. It is made from lace made with an embroidery machine. You are so clever, Janet.

Hobbysew Christmas party and Show and Tell

We had a lovely time at Hobbysew on Saturday as we had a Christmas morning tea and Show and Tell as well. It was so inspiring to see the many quilts and other stitching that the ladies had completed in classes throughout the year. There were about 20 ladies.

Helen Godden was our special speaker and she came along with a wish list for Santa. She assumed that as it was a Christmas party that Santa would be there so she could sit on his knee! Helen had listed a 12 days of Christmas wish list, with so many fat quarters, rulers, tape measures etc. She even sang some of it.

Helen also shared her first piecing! Or so we thought! Helen has very cleverly painted the strips and then quilted them to look like piecing!

This is Cathy's Mystery quilt revealed. Cathy teaches a mystery most years and they are always lovely quilts.

Another Christmas party on the same day

Last Wednesday was a busy day as the night girls, or the ladies of the night, had a Christmas supper at Barbara's lovely home. Thank you Barbara for hosting the night. The time went too quickly and we all had such a nice time. Sue was the person with the most Christmas spirit with her fabulous thongs. Cathy, at Hobbysew, had that great idea and they look really good.

Sue also had her antlers on!

Some of the ladies did stitch as there are things that need finishing for the next few weeks!

There was some show and tell too. Audrey has completed this very special scissor keeper for her friend. What a lucky friend.

Margot had her finished canvas work to show us and her beautiful runner as well. They look so lovely, Margot.

It was such a lovely evening with special friends.

Wonderful stitching and a Christmas party

Maryellen has had her wonderful blackwork framed. Doesn't it look great?

Donna brought along her beautiful wool blanket she has finished. She has designed this herself and there are so many grub roses on the hat. She even has eyelashes. Such a special gift.

We then headed out to lunch for our Christmas party. Here are Jan and Joan having a good time.

Angela kindly played Santa for our gifts and she obviously enjoyed herself.

Lovely stitching

It was lovely to have our dear friend Paddy back at stitching on Wednesday. She had some great Show and Tell. Paddy is making Leanne Beasley's "Leanne's House" BOM and this is part of one of the blocks. I love the colours she has chosen.

Paddy has also finished some of these little decorations......

and some Bareroots stockings too.

She is also stitching 2 little hangings using the special Christmas block pattern from the "Be Attitudes" Book by Nancy Halverson.

Well done, Paddy, and so lovely to have you back in Canberra.

I had an email from Terrie yesterday with pictures of her finished projects from the Stitching day. Don't they look wonderful? This is her embroidered stocking.

And this is Terrie's lovely cushion. The colours work so well.

I also have been trying to get a few gifts prepared and used another Theodora Cleave button to make this decoration using Marg Low's pattern. There are too many things I would like to make but not enough hours. Mind you, today I am going to stitching and then out for Christmas lunch with the stitching girls and tonight, out for supper with my class ladies! Must wrap my secret Santa gifts.
