Lots of lovely stitching...

Najelle brought along her lovely family of penguins on Wednesday for us to meet at the shop. They are just so special and are from another lovely pattern by Melly and Me. 

Jan has made another bookmark! The colours work so well, Jan.

Najelle is also working on this stitchery block for the BOM that Hobbysew is going to have soon. The stitcheries were designed by Laraine from Up in Annies room and Cathy is going to design the patchwork. I think it is going to be a lovely quilt.

This is another of the blocks for the quilt. I finished this one recently and forgot to take a picture of it.

Najelle has also stitched another one of Anni Downs' little pictures to put onto those terribly cute lolly bags. We are all getting excited about the Sydney craft show which is on next week. Can't wait to visit the Hatched and Patched stall as it is one of my favourites.

Tuesday show and tell

The Tuesday social stitchers had some lovely show and tell this week and I remembered my camera! Josie has finished this lovely Christmas heart using a Christine Book pattern. Fancy it being a Christmas decoration, Josie?

A new lady to the group, Miranda, showed this amazing quilt with the three wise men! It was so cleverly done  as the wise men are 3 dimensional.

Shirley has been busy too and is working on getting all her UFOs finished. I should follow her example! Here is a sampler quilt she has finished. looks great, Shirley.

Here is a lovely Christmas stitchery quilt that Shirley has stitched and pieced together. Well done, Shirley.

What am I stitching?

We had a lovely quiet weekend and it was great to get a few things organised to stitch. We are heading away to visit dear friends in Victoria on the weekend and it is a long drive! Lots of time to stitch. I appliqued the carol singers onto the 8th Crazy Christmas block. There is plenty of stitching on this block to keep me busy.

I also started a canvas work project I have been wanting to do for a while. I do enjoy canvas work.

I traced and started the vegetables for the "Gardener's journal" Stitch-a-long.

Please excuse this blurry photo but here is the next block for the Stitch-a-long being organised on the ironing board. What a shame....I won't be able to do the ironing till this is sewn together.

Hope you all managed to get some time to stitch too.

Special invitation and some stitching

It was so lovely to receive this very special invitation to a dear friend's birthday celebration. It was tricky to get it all together again after opening the invitation but it looked something like this. Isn't it a special invitation?

I have been stitching on my "gardener's journal" stitcheries and have managed to finish two more. I am really enjoying stitching these lovely patterns. I must stop stitching and put the June block together. Here are the garden tools and....

here is resting in the garden. Now I need to do a little boring mending before I can do some more fun stitching.

Social stitching on Wednesday

I haven't had time to stitch or post over the last two days as I have been teaching at school. Bit of a shock after many weeks without a day. You do forget how tiring the kids are. I did make it to stitching and classes on Wednesday as usual. Here are a few of the lovely things that some of the ladies are making. Michelle is making a delightful set of babuschka dolls for a gift. Here is one of them.

Lyn has been busy again and has completed another quilt with great music fabrics on it. The black one at the bottom is the backing.

Joan had made this wonderful quilt in a class with Janet. I love the fabrics. Looks great, Joan.

Last Wednesday...

I don't know where this post vanished to but it was gone! So I will have to quickly add my words again. This is a lovely book that Judy brought to class last week. Very tempting!

Linda was appliquing these great teatowels using Nancy Halverson's lovely garden song fabrics and patterns from the book.

Barbara had done some beautiful stitching on this needlecase.

This lovely bag was stitched with wool on a plastic canvas and is such a useful basket. Jan had it with her at our second crochet class on Thursday. I have decided that crochet is a tricky skill to teach. It is very personal as every does it a little differently.

Wonderful Canvas work

I was amazed at the beautiful canvas work projects that the ladies had with them on Saturday. These lovely humbugs were made at a recent class with Fiona. I love the colours the ladies have chosen.
