Lovely stitching, knitting and little boys

Great to see the ladies on Wednesday at class again. Lynn has finished her first cross stitch project and has done a great job.

 It was exciting to see Barbara after her holiday away and she had finished her gorgeous pin cushion from the Red Home book. Can't wait to make one of these.

 These little hexagons are only 1/2 inch ones!

 Amy sent us these gorgeous pictures of the little boys and her too.

 They are such little tiny fellows!

 Barbara finished her pin cushion but also found time to knit these very special cardigans for Ben and Sam. They will need to do a bit more growing to fit them but they will be very handy.

Fiona is here now and we have been getting organised for our retreat this weekend. Can't wait to see everyone and to share a great weekend of stitching and friendship. Don't forget your basic sewing gear, scissors, needles, hoop etc and you do need sheets and towels too.We are hoping to get to the craft fair tomorrow as well which will be fun.

Inspiration

Yesterday it was so inspiring at Hobbysew. The Tuesday girls has so much show and tell! Judy has finished this gorgeous top made completely with hand stitched haeagons! 

 Shirley has just finished this great quilt for a man. Looks great!

 Anne has made this wonderful quilt for her grand daughter. It is double sided and has fairies on the back of it and there are fairies quilted into the top too.

 Lynne has been working with these donated blocks to make this quilt for others. It has gone together so well.

 It was so lovely to see Roni's top from the beautiful Red Home book. So wanting to start this quilt but mustn't yet! Just had to get some of the border fabric for when I do make it.

Fiona and I have been busy getting everything ready for the Stitching in the Hills retreat which is this weekend! Can't wait!

Stitching, new book, new fabric and little boys

Just headed into the sewing room today and put together July's SKOW blocks. I had them stitched ages ago but hadn't added the little squares! Must get on and do the side border but might wait till the last 3 blocks are done! So close to finishing now.

 I have been slowly stitching these little birds from the Vignette quilt. I suppose even a little stitching will help to get the quilt done!

 It was exciting to receive this lovely book in the post recently. I do love Lynette's Christmas projects. I do agree with Hanne and Abyquilt that enlarging the designs by 200% is really painful.

 Just love the fabrics in Lynette's Christmas Fun range! They came the other day and are just gorgeous.

 My favourites are the reds, of course!

 Most exciting of all is the little chaps coming home from hospital! Here they are in their little capsules wearing Nanna's (that's me) knitted cardigans. So cute.

 They sleep some of the day away in their pram. This is on their first day at home.

They came here today for a visit with Mum which was so lovely! So very special to have them living up the road!

The boys are home and a bit of stitching

Here are the little fellows without the tubes on their last day in hospital. The little family had two nights in hospital rooming in and then came home on Monday. They are so very precious! Lots of hard work ahead but so lovely to see them home safely.

 Over the last few weeks I have been busy with some secret finishing off for our retreat which is only a week and a bit away! I did manage to get this project put together though. This is one of Anni Downs' patterns that we did at Jukejema last year! I am such a procrastinator at getting things finished!

 I also finally made a little more progress on my Vignette quilt and put together 2 of the centre blocks! Lots of applique and stitching to go on this piece.

 Classes started last week and it was lovely to see all the ladies. We had a special visitor to the night class. Little Heidi came to class and here she is having a cuddle with Heidi!

 She was such a good girl and let Mum have a night of stitching.

Thanks to the ladies who came to my Christmas class on Monday. We had a very nice day of stitching, some stitching the tree cushion and a few having a go at the hexagon decorations. I forgot to take any photos!

I forgot the food....

I completely forgot to mention all the lovely food we enjoyed at Urban stitches. We were at the Novatel and lunch was delicious. There were yummy salads and hot dishes but the desserts were amazing! What a shame you can't taste each one!

 Last week, little Audrey came to stitching. She comes most weeks and it is so lovely to see her growing and changing. We just loved seeing the little dress that Mummy appliqued for her!

Aunty Paddy can't resist giving her lots of cuddles!

There is a chance that our little grandbabies might be coming home on Sunday! How very exciting. 

Last pictures of Urban stitches

Here are a few more pictures of our day at Urban stitches. We enjoyed the day of stitching with these lovely ladies. It was great getting to know you.

 Melly, Rosalie and Leanne tried to get round to visit each table. Here we are with Leanne.

 There was so much to see but the Show and tell was a highlight. This lovely stitchery was one of last years' projects by Leanne. It has been done in slightly softer colours. I bought a kit with the original threads but might be tempted to stitch in these ones.....they do look like me!

 Here are just a few of the gorgeous quilts that were shown.

 This quilt was wonderful. The little pieces were only 1/2" squares!

 The same lady also make this hexagon quilt using 1/2" papers. Absolutely amazing.

 One of the highlights of the day was seeing the Vignette quilt in real life! Leanne had it with her and we were able to see the quilt so far! I have 3 sides done and have just started piecing the middle. It was motivating to see it.

 Just to prove that the little fellows are growing! Here they are and we were able to have a little cuddle. They are still in hospital but might be out next week. This is Ben with me.

A bit more of Urban stitches

Just home from my class Hobbysew. So nice to catch up again with all the ladies after a break over the school holidays. I took so many pictures as there was so much to see at Urban stitches. Each of the designers has their beautiful samples on display. They were very inspiring. These are some of Leanne's samples.

 It was also lovely to see Rosalie's many samples.

 This new BOM by Rosalie is really lovely and I think I may have to get it but promise not to start till my others are done....or at least most of them! The blocks are screen printed on linen so that makes it nice and easy to just pick up and stitch.

 This is the hexagon quilt that Leanne had in the Vignette magazine. There were quilts all around the room and they were so lovely to see!
