Class Show and Tell and a bit of stitching

It has been so lovely seeing Karen's amazing progress on her Quiltaid quilt. It is looking so good. Her little granddaughter is a very lucky girl.

 In the evening, Sue brought her Tis the Season quilt to show us. I love her choice of colours and the quilt looks great.

 Barbara has been busy too and has put together this beautiful cushion.

 It has a very special back with a zipper and piecing!

 Natalie has almost finished her little embroidered purse. Just the lining to sew in and it will be finished.

 I have been stitching too in between making kits and getting ready for Stitching on the Lake....which is tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. These little stockings are from Lynette Anderson's latest Christmas book. We didn't quite get the enlarging right so these are a little smaller than the original but they do look cute.

 I have also finished the stitching on this lovely pattern from the Homespun magazine by Anni Downs. Now to put it together!

A lovely biscornu

Stitching on the Lake

Fiona and I are very excited to share some photos of our projects for our stitching days coming up on the next 2 Saturdays. We are looking forward to two lovely days of stitching, chatting, eating and catching up with so many fellow stitchers. These days are our Christmas ones so it has been great fun designing these projects. This is the felt Santa.

 The bunting has 10 flags but this is just a hint!

 The foundation pieced stocking is fun to make. Bring along some of your favourite Christmas scraps of fabric.

 Here is the lovely canvas work decoration to hang on your tree.

 This stitchery is very special and will be a delight to hang this Christmas.

Gorgeous sewing box and a picnic

Brenda brought her sewing box, from the retreat,  to show me on Thursday. She has done the most wonderful job with lots of extra special features. This is the lid with a special cat button added to it.

 Inside the lid is padded for your pins.

 Inside the box, it is lined with pockets for your pens and scissors.

 She also covered the outside with patchwork and stitching as well! Well done, Brenda.

 Sunday here in Canberra was a beautiful day. It wasn't hot but just right for a picnic with friends from church.

 We took the ferry to Springback Island which is in the lake.

 Tried to get a photo of these little fellows smiling!

 We had a lovely picnic and then headed back through the spray of the fountain. The kids on board loved that bit!

Lynne's bags and a bit of stitching

Lynne has been busy and has make these two beautiful bags. Lovely stitching, Lynne.

 I have been stitching a little too and have added the "many" little squares to the base of the bag from 'The Simple Life' by Anni Downs. Here is the front....

 I have also stitched this lovely stitchery which Fiona designed for one of our stitching days a few years ago. I've been wanting to stitch it for a while.

 Then, on the weekend I got inspired to start a little Christmas stitching. This is a lovely pattern that was in the Homespun July issue and is another Anni Downs design. I really enjoyed the blanket stitch applique and am up to the stitching.

Beautiful quilt,stitching and boys

Paddy brought her gorgeous quilt in to show us at stitching on Wednesday. This is a Lynette Anderson BOM and Paddy has done a lovely job on this quilt. She had it quilted by Robyn as well.

 Margaret came to the evening class with these lovely stockings stitched for Christmas. They are from Lynette Anderson's latest Christmas book.

 I have managed to finish off this project bag from Anni Downs' book, The Simple Life. I think it will be a very useful bag. Haven't done much stitching last week as I have been busy making kits of our first stitching day coming up in less than 2 weeks.

 I had the pleasure of going to the shops with Amy and the boys on Friday. Benny had a lovely sleep but Sammy wanted to check out the restaurant.

 He then had a little play back home.

 Here is Ben feeling very happy after a feed.

 The boys, and their parents, popped in this afternoon for a little visit too.

Some Kind of Wonderful...finished!

My Some Kind of Wonderful quilt is finished! The binding was stitched down on the weekend.

 I have also added the label and used one of Anni's label patches. It matches the quilt perfectly.

I have just made the deadline for the Stitch-a-long! Whew!
