March Stitch-a-long

This was a lovely project as it was small but also makes up such a special little pin cushion. I had some fabrics left over from the little project bag in Anni's book and used those with a few other favourites.

Flying...

On Tuesday, Bruce and I, Amy, Gav and the boys headed to Goulburn. Amy and Bruce had been given a flying lesson for Christmas and this was the day for the flights! Amy and I were on photography duty which wasn't such a good idea as we were busy with the little boys and failed to notice which plane Bruce was in. This plane was in lots of photos but sadly it wasn't the right one!

 Luckily Bruce took one from the plane to prove his was up there flying.

 Gav took overwthen Amy was ready to board the tiny plane. If you look closely you can see how little it is with Amy standing near the plane.

 Bruce was back and so he and Gav took lots of photos of that little yellow plane with our girl in it!

 Meanwhile someone had to mind the little fellows!

 What a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Adrienne's sewing box and Enlighten

Had a lovely afternoon on Friday stitching with Adrienne. It was great to see what she had been working on and to see her finished sewing box from last year's retreat! She has done a beautiful job.

 Even the inside has been finished off so well with handy pockets for her sewing goodies.

 Hubby went out on Sunday night to photograph the Enlighten buildings. I was lazy and stayed home but after seeing the pictures, I should have gone with him. Each building is lit up with lots of different images and they look fantastic. This is the National Library.

 The portrait gallery was lit up too.

 There were great Toulouse Lautrec images on the Art Gallery.

 The high Court was all lit up.

 I love the colours on the water in front of Old Parliament House.

Well worth seeing even in photographs!!!

More lovely stitching...and some exciting news

Sue has just finished this great quilt for her daughter who is a wonderful netball player. It includes pieces of her netball uniforms and lots of lovely memorabilia of her netball days. What a lovely gift. The quilting was done with balls and hoops!!!

 Sue also finished these 2 bags. The first is made with felted wool fabric and is a pattern by Anni Downs. The second is a gift for her other daughter. They both look lovely, Sue.

I have been stitching too and have been trying to finish the lovely projects that we started on the cruise recently. This is the Heartfelt chateleine by Robyn Alexander. It is all done other than some beady bits at the point of the scissor keeper and on the scissor dolly.

This is the inside of the needlebook. Might stitch my name on the pansy label yet.

I have loved working on this piece by Gary Clarke. Just added the beads the other night and it needs sewing together. Can' wait to do another of these. We were given 3 in our kits and this is the small one!

Best show you some pictures of Benny and Sammy too. They are growing up so beautifully and are over 7 months now. They have decided I am very funny and laugh at me!!! I minded them both awake for a while the  other morning and it was busy but a real joy. 

 Check out this little man with food all over his face! He likes to rub his eyes while he eats! Just as well it was nearly bath time.

Lots of stitching

I am so lucky to work and teach at Hobbysew and you get to see so much lovely stitching! Last week at class, it was so lovely to see Karen and Lynn's lovely journal covers almost done. The little suffolk puffs look so beautiful. Just had to take home both the patterns that the ladies made when Lynette was teaching and even an extra one! The first one is Lynn's and her puffs had to be stitched on and she was finished. 

 Karen was just placing her suffolk puffs ready to be stitched.

 On Tuesday, Madge came in looking for some backing for this gorgeous quilt, Scandinavian Rose, by Rosalie Quinlan. I was so motivated to get my patterns out (bought last year) and get started! Can't start till a  few other things are done. It looks lovely in blue.

 Madge had also made these lovely bags with hexagons!

 Doreen brought in her gorgeous woven wool felt quilt which is a BOM by Sue Spargo. It is so gorgeous and it is inspiring to see the stitches used to embellish the wool.

 Doreen had also made this lovely needle and notions book from another Sue Spargo pattern.

Just so inspiring!
