Lovely work

Last week there was some great show and tell. Lynn has been so busy and has stitched this gorgeous blackwork design on 18ct aida. They are going to be Christmas gifts.

Jayne has finished her candlewicking and has used a lovely variegated perle 5 thread.
Beth has done a great job on her bird pin cushion.
In the evening, Barbara showed us some lovely knitting and sewing she has completed for some new little ones in her family!

Mothers Day and some stitching

It was lovely to catch up with our family yesterday for Mothers Day. As usual, it was tricky to get all the mums and kids together and all looking the same way! I do quite like these quirky pictures.

Here are a few of the littlies taken recently. The big boys are almost 4 which is amazing!

I have been keeping up with my Splendid Sampler blocks though it is harder than it sounds to get 2 blocks done every week.......if only I didn't have so many things on the go!

I did manage to get the third month finished. The trees took a fair bit of stitching.

My slow project, Yoko Saito's BOM, is coming along.

Show and tell

Last week, classes started once again and it was lovely to catch up with everyone. Nice to see some lovely show and tell too. Lesley showed me this gorgeous cross stitch a few weeks ago.
Jayne has finished her lovely runner. We all thought it was really beautiful!
Marlene has been very busy and has made this great quilt for her table! Lots of wonderful piecing there.

In the evening, Margaret brought along her first row of the Homespun BOM by Natalie Bird. Looks so good.
I have been trying to keep up with everything too but am getting a little behind. I did enjoy making this next block of the Button club by Lynette Anderson. Love those little pigs!

An this is the latest Splendid Sampler block!

Progress....

I am still busy trying to keep up with my too many ongoing projects. I am enjoying making them but it is hard when the time is flying by. Still it really doesn't matter and the enjoyment is what counts! I have been keeping up with the Splendid Sampler but am one stitching block behind at the moment.

These blocks are fun to put together from The Story of my day.

April is nearly over and I have only pieced this month's Foxley Village block. The applique is prepared so hopefully will be done before the next issue comes out.
I have been enjoying a little knitting. This little cardigan is a free download on Ravelry and is such a nice one to knit. It even fits!

I am trying to work on my older UFOs too. I just love this Yoko Saito BOM but it is so much work! I spent last evening appliquing some leaves and added stairs and a tree trunk the other day! There are also so many windows!

I finally ordered my blog book for 2015. Made a little mistake and ordered hard covered ones! A bit more expensive but it is a lovely record of our year.

Family picnic

It is a special holiday in Australia today as we remember the many who fought for our country, especially the Anzacs. We are so privileged to live in this wonderful country, especially me as I came as a migrant many years ago.
Nothing to do with Anzac day but on Saturday we headed to Bowral for a Frazer family picnic. It was a bit cool but we really enjoyed seeing everyone, especially the little people. I hadn't met some of the newest little ones. I came up with Amy and the boys and that was much better than expected. There were a few "Are we there yet" and "It is a very long way!" comments but overall we managed with food, movies and a quick stop at McDonalds on the way.
Thanks to Aunty Deirdre for organising the day and to all those who were able to come. We missed the many great grandchildren who live too far away or were unable to come. Here are a few photos of the fun that was had. Trying to get a group photo of the little people was a bit tricky!
