Progress....

There has been some stitching and even machining over the last few weeks. I bought this lovely pattern from Anni Downs in Melbourne and had stitched the front panel so worked on making it up last week.

 Lovely to see some wonderful finishes at stitching last Wednesday. Just check out Roni's beautiful cushion!

 This bag has been on my "to do" list for a while. After seeing Beth's beautiful version, I am even more motivated to make it. It is from a book by Kathy Schmitz.

 I am still keeping up with Stitch Therapy 365. Here are blocks 155 to 161. My favourite is definitely the VW combi.

The Dressmaker Exhibition and dressing up

We really enjoyed seeing the wonderful clothes from the movie, The Dressmaker, at the National Film and Sound Archive. There was a great movie about the making of the film too.

A few finishes...

Nice to finish May with a couple of finishes. So enjoyed making this little pin cushion cone designed by Natalie Bird.

 Had a lovely time crocheting this shawl/scarf and it was nice to see it blocked and some tassels added to finish it off.

 This little stitchery was a free one from Anni Downs last Christmas. Not sure what it will become but it was a fun stitch.

 I am continuing with my Stitch Therapy 365 blocks. They are good fun.

More stitching...

Going away makes you prepare a bit of extra stitching. I had started these little Christmas stitcheries, designed but Anni Downs, a while ago and managed to finish them while away. Not sure what they will become but might make nice gifts.

 I had bought this lovely pattern in Melbourne and as it was printed on it was easy to find some variegated cotton and start to stitch. It will become a pin cushion cone and is a design by Natalie Bird.

 As I was away for nearly a week, I didn't get to do my Stitch Therapy blocks. I have managed to catch up since I have been home.

 Amazing show and tell at stitching on Wednesday. Sue brought in this amazing tree Skirt/table topper that she has finished. It was an enormous job with so many sequins to sew on! Her late mum had bought the kit many years ago and how special for Sue to make it up!

Yesterday our study group hosted a Biggest Morning Tea as a fund raiser for Cancer research. We did pretty well with the catering!!!

On Wednesday, it was my day with the little miss! We had a nice day.....she decided she could vacuum and sweep up leaves! She said "if we all work together we can get it done"!!! Pa managed to capture a few lovely pictures of her.

Uluru

Last week we flew to Uluru! I haven't ever seen this part of the world before and it was amazing. The red dirt and the size of Uluru and the Kata Tjutas was quite incredible. We saw the sunset over Uluru and the sun rise over Kata Tjuta. I managed some of the walks and the tired legs were worthwhile. These first three were from the plane. This is Lake Ayre!

 The sunset was wonderful.

On our first day we went on the guided talk at Uluru, which was very good. We then walked around Uluru. I only made it half way (mainly because it was hot and there was a shady spot near the road.) The flies were quite a bother too. We look strange but the nets were very worthwhile.

We got up early to see the sunrise at Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). We then walked part of the Valley of the Winds walk and the Walpa Gorge.

 On our last day, it was great to see the clouds over Uluru.
