Milan

On Saturday, 20th July we spent the very warm day checking out a few sights in Milan. We first headed to the Brera shopping district and then visited the grounds of the medieval Castello Sforzesco.
We then visited La Triennale de Milan, which is a modern design museum. We enjoyed seeing the designs from the 50's onwards.

In the evening we had dinner at the Navigli Grande Canal which was fun. We didn't choose our meal too carefully but the experience was worthwhile.
We went to Verona on Sunday and I will do an extra post on that but on Monday we wandered around Milan again. Here are a few of the sights.

Lake Como

On Friday, 19th July, we caught the train to Lake Como. We caught the ferry around the lake and enjoyed exploring Bellagio and Argegno. The scenery here is beautiful.

Back in Como later in the afternoon, we visited the beautiful cathedral and then enjoyed a yummy dinner in a little restaurant. We then caught the train back to Milan.

Singapore and Milan

We started our journey on Tuesday night when we boarded the plane in Canberra. We had to endure 2 night flights this time with a day in Singapore in between. We went on a free tour of Singapore on Wednesday morning. It was quite interesting.

This waterfall is in the new shopping centre near Changi Airport.
We then booked a room and had a sleep before facing the next night flight. We arrived in Milan early on Thursday morning. We were fairly tired all day but went to the Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

We also visited the Leonardo 3 exhibition, which was very interesting.

Outings...

It has been a lovely week of outings! On Thursday we headed to Sydney and Lyndal, Alice and I went to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was so good! We all enjoyed it very much. We also enjoyed meals out and a bit of retail therapy too.

We then had lunch out on Sunday with the whole family for Bruce's birthday and after that we and the big girls went to the Monet Exhibition at the National Gallery.

We now have our bags packed for our next adventure.....flying out tonight! Not sure when I will  be able to blog but will tell you all about it when I can.
