A bit of stitching

I have enjoyed a little canvas work over the last week. I had forgotten how much fun it is. Here is a little house ready to be displayed. I was hoping it would fit into my printers tray but it is a bit big.

Paddy shared her very cute bunny that she has made for her grandie, Stella. What a lovely easter gift.

Jayne has been busy too making these gorgeous embroidery and applique collages.

Ma came to visit a few weeks ago. Little miss enjoyed reading her reader to Ma.

Weekend at the coast

Each year the Thursday girls head off the the coast for a retreat. It is always very relaxing with delicious food,  laughs and plenty of chat. This year even I braved the sea for a swim. It was pretty wild in the ocean but the temperature of the water was very good.

This and that

It is certainly Autumn here as it has become quite chilly in the evenings. Still we have had a few sunny days recently to make up for the rain. I feel so sorry for the many who have been flooded in NSW and Queensland. What a terrible time for many.

We have all been fine here and quite a bit of the rain missed us. I have had some fun recently knitting a scarf. After quite a few goes at starting and making a silly error, it ended up knitting up well. Thanks to Jan for the lovely wool.

I also received my 2021 blog book too. I am so silly and called it 2020! I know 2021 was very similar to last year but I can't believe that I was that silly.

Lovely to see some beautiful stitching on Wednesday. Jayne has made a gorgeous zippered pouch with this lovely slow stitching panel.

Beth had finished her gorgeous ipad case for her sister.
Roni has been hand piecing all these diamonds to make this lovely quilt!

She also couldn't resisit this cute bunny when she was shopping!
I have started a new scarf! It is slow going but good fun using perle 8 cotton.
And, I will finish with some pictures of the miss when she was here last week. Do you like her red nose?

Stitching

I have been enjoying some cross stitch lately. Here are my Santas all made up into little cushions.

I have been sewing one Santa cushion and one of these blocks most days. Glad to be doing a little time in the sewing room. These clever blocks are fun to make.
Lovely Heather taught a few of us how to make felted purses using rocks recently. It was fun!
Beth has made up her beautiful door stop. It looks amazing!
Great to see these lovely finishes. Barbara has done such a beautiful job on this gorgeous stitchery.
Barbara has been making gorgeous cardigans and singlets and blankets for babies, What a wonderful gift this would be.
I will leave you some pictures of our noisy visitors recently!

Art Gallery

Recently we headed to the art gallery to see the Jeffrey Smart exhibition. I did have to google him and find out a bit before I went but it was amazing. His art is very architectural with quite amusing twists in some of the paintings.

I liked this one especially. The corrugated iron is so beautifully painted.

This one was very interesting as it is a portrait of Clive James. Can you spot him??

Stitching

Even though I haven't been doing much machine sewing, I have still been stitching by hand. I am slowly stitching this delightful panel by Natalie Bird. I am just choosing my favourite DMC colours.

I have left those alone for a while and have been enjoying stitching some coss stitch Santas.

It has been motivating to see what the Wednesday girls have been making! Jayne has been making these amazing see through pouches. She has used stitcheries and the pattern from Marg Low.

Margaret has made this great little quilt using a wonderful quick piecing technique.
