This and that

Where has April gone? We are now in autumn and even though Anzac Day is over we haven't even put our heater on! Very strange though I am not complaining. Here is a bit of autumn colour for you.

I was recently woken by a loud noise and it was this balloon just over our house!

I have been slowly using up my perle 8 threads to crochet this scarf. Good fun. Thanks Adrienne, for the great crochet pattern.

I have been also enjoying some slow stitching on these cross stitch patterns by Plum Street Samplers.

My friend Penny is so lucky. She is in France and managed to get to Nantes for the quilt show there. We were planning to go in 2020 but Covid spoilt many plans that year. Here are a few of her photos of the day.

I will finish the month off with a picture of the little miss. She is very excited today as her family has a puppy named Max.

Lunch and High tea

It was a lovely social week last week. The Thursday group had their regular lunch at the end of the term and we celebrated Linley's 80th birthday. She is amazing for 80!

On Saturday, I was very spoilt with High tea at the Hyatt for my birthday. It is always so special to spend the afternoon eating, drinking and chatting!

We minded the boys on Tuesday and Pa took the big boys fishing while Jack went to a Circus holiday program. No fish were caught but it was a nice day for it.

Lovely projects

It is ways so inspiring to see what the Wednesday ladies are stitching. Jayne has finished her amazing needlecase using the delightful stitcheries she has been working on. It is such a useful needlecase.

Rini has bound her gorgeous hand pieced quilt. It looks so beautiful. We lovely the colours used.
Roni has also been making these great easter eggs using a pattern by Anni Downs. The cake behind was made by Paddy and was delicious. We had an early celebration for Beth's special birthday.

We gave Beth her gift. We gave her a gift voucher for her favourite shop, Makerie, and some beautiful candles. I made this purse for Beth to keep her gift voucher or treasures in.

A bit of stitching

I have enjoyed a little canvas work over the last week. I had forgotten how much fun it is. Here is a little house ready to be displayed. I was hoping it would fit into my printers tray but it is a bit big.

Paddy shared her very cute bunny that she has made for her grandie, Stella. What a lovely easter gift.

Jayne has been busy too making these gorgeous embroidery and applique collages.

Ma came to visit a few weeks ago. Little miss enjoyed reading her reader to Ma.

Weekend at the coast

Each year the Thursday girls head off the the coast for a retreat. It is always very relaxing with delicious food,  laughs and plenty of chat. This year even I braved the sea for a swim. It was pretty wild in the ocean but the temperature of the water was very good.

This and that

It is certainly Autumn here as it has become quite chilly in the evenings. Still we have had a few sunny days recently to make up for the rain. I feel so sorry for the many who have been flooded in NSW and Queensland. What a terrible time for many.

We have all been fine here and quite a bit of the rain missed us. I have had some fun recently knitting a scarf. After quite a few goes at starting and making a silly error, it ended up knitting up well. Thanks to Jan for the lovely wool.

I also received my 2021 blog book too. I am so silly and called it 2020! I know 2021 was very similar to last year but I can't believe that I was that silly.

Lovely to see some beautiful stitching on Wednesday. Jayne has made a gorgeous zippered pouch with this lovely slow stitching panel.

Beth had finished her gorgeous ipad case for her sister.
Roni has been hand piecing all these diamonds to make this lovely quilt!

She also couldn't resisit this cute bunny when she was shopping!
I have started a new scarf! It is slow going but good fun using perle 8 cotton.
And, I will finish with some pictures of the miss when she was here last week. Do you like her red nose?
