This and that

It was lovely to have Ma visiting for a few days recently. We didn't get many photos but here is one of Ma and a few of the kids in the pool.

We also went to the Sleeping Beauty Childrens's ballet. The miss enoyed the afternoon.

At stitching last week, Jenny shared her gorgeous Christmas hangind she made recently.

Roni has also been busy and has completed these gorgous cross stitch decorations and started a lovely project with felt circles.

Jayne has also finished this cute little bag!

So lovely to see this embroidery finished. Adrienne has done a fabulous job.
I have also enjoyed a bit of relaxing cross stitch.

Stitching

Happy new year everyone. Fancy it being 2023!! It has taken me a while to get back into normal life but even though the decorations are still up, it was lovely to head off to stitching last Wednesday. Jayne had some gorgeous show and tell of a very special gift she received. These cloths are beautifully decorated and are for wrapping things, even a picnic. They are Furshiki cloths and are a Japanese idea. I just loved how they were embroidered.

Jayne's friend also made this tiny basket!
Plus Jayne received a gorgeous printed and hand dyed scarf.
I have finally headed back to my latest quilt, the Vermont Summer Medallion. Most of border 2 was already sewn but they need corners and sewing onto the centre.

Border 4 has hourglass blocks so here is a start.
I also finished this free stitchery from @em_bea_roidery on Instagram. It was a fun stitch.

Christmas

Christmas is over for another year! All the preparations and baking have all been enjoyed and it has been nice to recover over these quieter days before New Year. Here are some pictures of the excitement. The gifts were ready!

It was a lovely hot day so the children enjoyed the pool.

I didn't manage to get many food pictures but here is afternoon tea.
And a few random ones! Alice and her gingerbread house, movie watching on Christmas eve and a game on Boxing day.

On the Sunday evening before Christmas there were carols in Telopea Park. It was obviously freezing. We were very lucky to have lovely warm weather for Christmas. Here are Janelle and I all rugged up!

Decorations

Thought I had best share a few pictures of the festive house. I am always relieved when the decorations are up!

Thought I would share this lovely glass birdie gifted to me by clever Paddy!!
Paddy has also been making this felt bird and one in glass too!

Roni inspired me to use up some scraps to make some scrappy stars. I just love it and perhaps will have time after Christmas.
I have been having great fun stitching these Adventrees which is a free pattern on Instagram by Beatrice from @em_bea_roidery.
