Cruising

We headed off last week on the Royal Princess for a cruise up to Port Douglas. We enjoyed a very relaxing time on board. Books were read and a bit of stitching was done and it all went well. We were just a little disappointed in the food this time and some of the new things on board but all in all it was still a good holiday. We ended up staying on board in Brisbane as it is a long way into the city and in Airlie beach and Cairns as the tender process was long with such a big ship. In Port Douglas we took an excursion to see the outer reef which was very good.

Bruce enjoyed the snorkling.

This was the glass bottom boat, which was like a submarine. It was great to see the coral and fish.

A bit of stitching

Thought it was time to blog again though not too much has happened. It has turned freezing here again after a few weeks of very pleasant weather. We loved having Ma to visit last week but sadly didn't take any photos. She is always a pleasure to have visiting. We enjoyed shopping, eating and watched a few shows together. On the stitching front, I have been continuing working on Amanda's Daisy sewalong and have been enjoying all the english paper piecing.

The new Homespun came too recently so I have started the blocks for Part 5 of the Owl and Hare Hollow BOM.

Just found this funny one of Ma trying on a dressing gown we bought for Janelle.
Here are our very pretty azaleas in the garden.

Stitching and other things

As my Owl and Hare BOM is up to date, I have enjoyed stitching some other things. Just love how this Tully Tote turned out. Lovely pattern by Natalie Bird and amazing gift from Fiona.

I have also been tempted and given in to making Amanda's lovely stitchalong on Instagram. All paper pieced and using liberties so no wonder I couldn't resist.
We all just loved this amazing bag that Jayne has made as a gift. What an amazing gift.
We headed to the city on Saturday night to celebrate our dear friend, Garrick's 70th birthday. It was a fun night.

The boys came over on Monday and had their first swim of the season!
Just a few pictures of recent times with the children. The little miss is in Japan at the moment having a fabulous time.

Tulip Top Gardens

We had a lovely time at Tulip Top Gardens last Thursday for our end of term lunch for the Thursday group. It cooled down in the afternoon but was perfect in the morning. Our pot luck lunch was very delicious too.

Stitching progress

I have been busy this month catching up on the Owl and Hare Hollow BOM. I have completed Part 4 which is very exciting. It is nice to be up to date.

As part 4 is done I was able to work on a few other projects. I have finished this lovely bag designed by Anni Downs. The front and back stitching was done but it needed putting together.
