Patchwork on the Rhine Tour

I am home from a wonderful time away in Europe. The jetlag is slowly going away and I really need to share all the lovely places we have visited. We flew out on Wednesday and arrived in Frankfurt on Thursday morning. We then, feeling pretty awful, got on a bus and went to Obernai. We had a lunch stop in Strasburg which was pretty delicious. Obernai is a very cute town and we had a wander around before an early night.

The next two days were spent at the European Patchwork meeting which was amazing. We loved the variety of stalls and the wonderful quilts on display in churches and buildings in other villages.

Lovely to see Jane from Bebe bold there.

We had a little introduction to our projects for the trip and received the rest of our kits.

I will share the quilts next time.

All my bags are packed....

It is all excitement here today as tomorrow I am heading to Sydney and then flying to Europe for the Stitching on the Rhine tour with Natalie Bird. My bags are packed with the kits and some extra stitching for the plane. Our tour includes a few days in Obernai in France, visiting the European Patchwork meeting. We then head to Luxemburg, then Brugges, and lastly we go on a river cruise from Cologne, visiting Amsterdam and a few other places in the Netherlands. So so exciting! Not much to show you yet but I have started stitching a French general panel and started some knitting to do while away.

Spring is defintely here though many of the blossoms are already leaves!

This and that

The weeks fly by and I need to catch up! I have been stitching and have continued working slowly on my Garden quilt. I am enjoying working on this.

I have also finished this cute stitching pouch which is another gorgeous design by Anni Downs.

We were very impressed to see this gorgeous stitching that Jayne is working on! It is just gorgeous.

It has also been book week last week. The miss wasn't really well but managed to be at school for the parade. She looked so cute in the lovely dress that Mummy had made and an old raffia hat that I made many years ago. One of the big boys and his class in Perth dressed up as Disney princesses or characters!!!

On Wednesday we had breakfast our in Gold Creek and enjoyed seeing this yarn bombing outside the new wool shop.

Perth

I was very lucky to be in Perth when the Craftalive quilt show was on. It was a nice show with quite a few shops that I hadn't seen before. I especially liked Bizzy Bee Patchwork which had lovely quilts and projects made with Japanese Yarn dyed fabrics. I enjoyed the quilts as well.

And to finish, just a few of the boys playing soccer and birthday Boy Ben.

We were very lucky to have Amy come back with us for work and we surprised her sister! She got a shock but was thrilled. We all loved having Amy here for the week.
