Beautiful thimble and holder and a visit to the Gallery

Gwen shared this beautiful silver thimble and holder with us on Wednesday. Her dear husband, who is sadly missed, gave her this special gift. It is a very lovely keepsake.
After going to stitching for a short time (and not doing a stitch), I met up with Di and Karen from the Bay for a quick shop, lunch and a visit to the Art Gallery. They were going to the Masterpieces of Paris and as I had already been, I went for a wander in the Gallery. I found this exquisite bed covering which had been beautifully embroidered many years ago. The tiny silk stitches were unbelievable.

It was also very large! I sneakily took these few photos to show you.

Donna's Thimble and some framing

Donna showed us this lovely old thimble she bought in Seattle a few weeks ago when she was visiting her daughter. Imagine all the stitches it has helped to sew in its long life.
Donna keeps it in this cute little "thimble" bag! Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry as I was trying to get too close!
I think I told you that my favourite framer is closing his little business soon so I just HAD to get some framing done. These are 2 canvas works that I stitched a long time ago and hadn't ever had framed so now they are. Haven't worked out where I am going to put all the things that I framed.

All this framing will give me lots to post over the next few days.

Lovely Thimble Container and beautiful stitching

Donna from Wednesday stitching keeps her antique thimble in the loveliest container. Here it is and the picture below is it open showing the thimble. We put it on my favourite needle case made from a design by Lynette Anderson.

This lovely Christmas stitchery is Audrey's. We are all in awe of her beautiful satin stitches!
