Stitching updates

I have continued working on my Yoko Saito quilt and have appliqued the blocks to the borders and added some trees, lampposts and birds.

I have also had some fun cutting squares for a liberty scarf!

Roni shared this amazing quilt with us last week. It is so beautiful. Pattern by Wendy Williams.

May is almost over and next month is going to be exciting. Firstly a trip to Sydney to see Mamma Mia and then off overseas for our first trip to Europe for several years! Best get my packing done!

Assembly

Last Friday the big boys performed in an assembly about the gold rush. I had a call for beards the afternoon before so Alice and I managed to make some out of some old wool and mop fibres. I also had some old raffia hats and vests for them to wear!

Here is the miss trying out the outfit.

Progress

I am feeling very pleased as I have made some progress on my ongoing projects. So excited to have finished the final border of the Vermont Summer Medallion. Lots of hand stitching here.

I vowed to myself that after the Medallion top was done I would go back to my Yoko Saito Mystery quilt (started years ago) and put it together. It didn't even take that much time!!!

I also made up this cute pouch that I had stitched on the retreat.

Plus two more little hats for the hospital babies.
So lovely to be able to tick off a few more steps on these projects.

Bits and pieces

May is definitely here and it feels like winter has already begun in sunny Canberra! Here are a few pictures of autumn in the front garden. The autumn colours have been gorgous this year.

In late April a few of us went to the Craft Alive show and the Canberra quilt show. Here are a few of the quilts.

On Wednesday afternoon the ladies showed me their purchases from the Canberra quilters shop. I just love the woolie toys.

Roni has made some felted gumnuts to match her cute plate.
Anita, from the night group, went to a class at AQC and made this very special purse.
What have I been doing? I am still working slowly on the Vermont quilt but have finished my socks.
Finally a few recent ones of the boys. Jack showing his sewing. Sam and Ben coming 2nd and 4th in the cross country and Sam at soccer.
