Tis the Season

Chookyblue mentioned this delightful book on her blog recently. The Stitch a long girls are going to do the quilt in this little book next year after we have finished the Gardener's Journal quilt. I mentioned it to the ladies at Hobbysew and we have copies at the shop if anyone is in Canberra and "needs" one. It is a lovely little book by Natalie Bird.

The stitcheries make lovely cushions. Traced one this morning in case I had time to stitch it before Christmas.

I was also lucky enough to win a lovely pattern by Helen of Hugs and Kisses. She had a very generous giveaway last week and gave away a pattern every day and I won the first one. Here it is. Lucky me and thank you, Helen.

Another block stitched and a new pattern

I have managed to fit a little bit of stitching in over the past busy week. I have finished block 6 of the Crazy Christmas BOM by Lynette Anderson and am pleased with the result. I did rush the needleturn this time and that is not a good idea! I couldn't bear to undo it so continued on and it is OK.

The "Plant Trees" sampler and cushion pattern is now ready to go to Hobbysew. We are doing this project in my "Stitching for Pleasure" classes but there have been a few people interested in the pattern. The samples can be seen at the shop. The pattern will include one of "Up in Annies room"s lovely willow tree buttons and the buttons are also available individually.

Some finished projects

I enjoyed doing the punchneedle on this little bag pattern from "The World as it Should be" and managed to put it together yesterday.

Here are the woven wool felt decorations I have been stitching over the last few weeks. They are from a pattern by Anni Downes called Christmas Berry Baubles.

Here is the finished pattern for the wooden Button hearts that I am teaching at Hobbysew at the Christmas day in November. We thought we would offer the pattern and the button at the shop for those who can't come to the stitching day.

I am really pleased with the photos taken with my little digital camera.

Craft Show Purchases

Here are some of the things I bought at the Canberra Craft Show. I had bought the curvemaster foot in Sydney so needed some drunkeds path templates and a small rotary cutter to try it out. Note that they are still in their wrappings so they haven't been used yet.

I bought a little (not needed) fabric.

This is the pattern and tool to make rag rugs. I have always wanted to have a go and years ago had admired the rag rugs at the Quilters Barn in Victoria and this is the pattern for their rugs.

The lovely stall with felt and wool tempted me very much and in the end I bought this gorgeous pattern. It is so cute and I might have a little girl to make it for one day!

Not only is Lise a winner but so am I. I have managed to win 2 lovely patterns in generous giveaways over the past weeks. Lyn from Moore Patchwork and Quilting had a lovely pattern for a laundry set and here it is. Lucky me. I have a very daggy laundry that could do with tidying up!

I also won a beautiful pattern from Amanda Brooke called Land for me. It is coloured in so that will be fun.

How exciting is that!!!!

New Pattern and a finish

Wanted to share this lovely pattern that I couldn't resist last week at Hobbysew. I did see it at Hatched and Patched's stall in Sydney but didn't buy it then. So good that we have it at Hobbysew now. Might just have to trace it so I have something to stitch!

I have been home feeling unwell for a few days (feeling a lot better now) so have busied myself with the stitching day projects. I have now stitched all 3 and have written the notes which is a major achievement for me as that is the thing I dislike most! So organised! Here is a little peek at one of them.

The stitching day isn't till September but being ready is such a good feeling.
