Patchwork on the Rhine Tour

I am home from a wonderful time away in Europe. The jetlag is slowly going away and I really need to share all the lovely places we have visited. We flew out on Wednesday and arrived in Frankfurt on Thursday morning. We then, feeling pretty awful, got on a bus and went to Obernai. We had a lunch stop in Strasburg which was pretty delicious. Obernai is a very cute town and we had a wander around before an early night.

The next two days were spent at the European Patchwork meeting which was amazing. We loved the variety of stalls and the wonderful quilts on display in churches and buildings in other villages.

Lovely to see Jane from Bebe bold there.

We had a little introduction to our projects for the trip and received the rest of our kits.

I will share the quilts next time.

Weekend away and stitching

We enjoyed a lovely weekend in Lake Tabourie. The weather was good and it was fun to spend some time at the beach.

I have been keeping up with my Stitch Therapy 365. It is very enjoyable to stitch.

I am a little behind with Here, There and Everywhere. There are a few more pieced blocks to make (I am going slowly and aiming to do one each day) and I am stitching an extra map.
I am adding some of my own maps of some of the wonderful places we have been lucky enough to visit. This one is a definite favourite!

Lovely weekend at the coast

It was so special to have a long weekend down the coast with our Thursday ladies group. We "retreat" to the coast once every year and have such a good time. Friday was still quite warm so some of us, including me, went for a lovely swim. We rent a house just walking distance from Denhams Beach.

Some of the ladies like to play games and do puzzles. There were many to choose from. We all played a wonderful drawing game called Telestrations which was great fun.

We also ate very well. There were delicious cakes and slices, chocolate and delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners too.

We all look forward to this weekend every year. Some of us enjoyed some stitching as well.

Weekend at the coast

We returned yesterday from a lovely weekend down the coast at Lake Tabourie for the church camp. Lots of fun, chat and good food made for a great relaxing weekend away. It did drizzle all day on Saturday but it didn't seem to matter as it was possible to remain dry. I did a little stitching, some read the newspapers, many people did jigsaw puzzles and played games and the kids just went out in the rain and had great fun anyway. Sunday was a lovely day and hubby took some great photos.

There was some amazing frisbee action!

The sea was so big and wild! I am not much of a swimmer but I did venture in for a while as the water temperature was good but it was so tiring as the waves were so big that there was a lot of going under them and trying to jump over them (sometimes unsuccessfully).

There was a bit of sandcastle building fun too.
For those coming to Stitching on the Lake next Saturday, the projects we are doing can be found here. Fiona and I are looking forward to another lovely day of food and friendship. Remember to bring your favourite cup for tea and coffee.
