Shopping and a little stitching

My famous last words before I went into AQC were "I don't really need ANYTHING!". Ha Ha! I still managed to buy quite a bit. There were so many lovely shops there and it was just too tempting!
I did buy some patterns.

 These lovely frames were too tempting too.

 And just a bit of fabric, some buttons and some useful bits and pieces were bought too.

 Then... I couldn't resist getting a bit of wool to play with, some from the show and the Noro from Morris and Sons.

 Last week I managed to put together this zippered pouch using the houses from an Anni Downs' pattern.

 I also finished making the rest of the baubles for the second scarf.

Shopping, patterns, stitching and a little show and tell

After 2 very busy weekends with Melbourne and then our retreat, I realised that I hadn't shown my shopping or the kits and patterns we were given at Friends in Stitches. On the Friday we went to the craft show and these the patterns that I bought.

 I also "gave in" and signed up for this wonderful BOM by Yoko Saito. I had gone away planning NOT to get any BOMs as there are too many things unfinished here but this is beautiful and I couldn't resist.

 The fabrics are all gorgeous Japanese ones.

 Marg Low's stall was beautiful and her new Christmas book is lovely.

 These are the patterns we received in our goodie bag at the Friends in Stitches day.

 Finally, I have a little stitching to show! Here is block 2 of the Chateau Hexagon Button club.

 On Wednesday, it was lovely to see Karen's wonderful quilt she has been working on for her granddaughter. It is looking fabulous!

 Lynne had also finished off a delightful cushion from a pattern by Viv's Creations.

Off to the Canberra Craft and Quilt show again today. I went yesterday to do my duty (white glove duty) in the quilt show and did wander around the stalls a little, but will have a closer look today.

Making Patterns

I spent some time making patterns for the shop yesterday. They are some of the projects we did at last year's Stitching on the Lake day. Here they are.

Wonderful Christmas BOM by Lynette Anderson

I was looking at blogs the other day and discovered one that is already selling Lynette Anderson's BOM "Crazy Christmas" in Australia. Cath is offering it as a BOM (patterns only) or as a set of patterns at a very good price. As you know I have already ordered and received the fabrics so I am very tempted. The little appliques with stitching are so cute!

This is what the blocks look like. I have added Cath's blog to my list. It is Cathron Country Designs. She emailed me and she is also the designer of "Angels in Disguise" patterns. I know I have some 0f her patterns in my collection and have stitched some too.

Bareroots patterns

In my classes this term, we are doing Bareroots designs. My night girls all had some patterns and I said I would get mine out. I must admit that I do love Barri Sue's designs and have been collecting for a long time. I did get a shock though when I took them out of my "filing system" and here are most of them! It has motivated me to make some more of the patterns. I have made a few and will show you some more in the next few posts.

This is the little bag that I made using the Three Little Purses pattern.  It was fun to make and is so cute.

Punch Needle Bag progress

This is the front of the punch needle bag that I am trying to complete. It is another pattern by Lynette Anderson and it was in the Homespun magazine along with a wonderful DVD teaching punch needle. I love the way the centre is punched and then the border is stitched which makes it more interesting. I have stalled a bit on this project as the handles are stitched like the border and I do have a few other things I am working on at the moment! 

Two New patterns

Received a lovely package in the post yesterday from Lyn at Moore Patchwork. They are a lovely quilt with little stitchery houses by Rosalie Quinlan and a delightful stitching set from Marg Low. I really didn't need 2 more patterns but they were too tempting! Would love to start them but.....

Lyn has a really nice blog, see above, and often has great new patterns in her range. She has a website as well at www.moorepatchwork.com. She came to the last stitching day here in Canberra and has since move to Queensland.
