Progress....

I am still busy trying to keep up with my too many ongoing projects. I am enjoying making them but it is hard when the time is flying by. Still it really doesn't matter and the enjoyment is what counts! I have been keeping up with the Splendid Sampler but am one stitching block behind at the moment.

These blocks are fun to put together from The Story of my day.

April is nearly over and I have only pieced this month's Foxley Village block. The applique is prepared so hopefully will be done before the next issue comes out.
I have been enjoying a little knitting. This little cardigan is a free download on Ravelry and is such a nice one to knit. It even fits!

I am trying to work on my older UFOs too. I just love this Yoko Saito BOM but it is so much work! I spent last evening appliquing some leaves and added stairs and a tree trunk the other day! There are also so many windows!

I finally ordered my blog book for 2015. Made a little mistake and ordered hard covered ones! A bit more expensive but it is a lovely record of our year.

Family picnic

It is a special holiday in Australia today as we remember the many who fought for our country, especially the Anzacs. We are so privileged to live in this wonderful country, especially me as I came as a migrant many years ago.
Nothing to do with Anzac day but on Saturday we headed to Bowral for a Frazer family picnic. It was a bit cool but we really enjoyed seeing everyone, especially the little people. I hadn't met some of the newest little ones. I came up with Amy and the boys and that was much better than expected. There were a few "Are we there yet" and "It is a very long way!" comments but overall we managed with food, movies and a quick stop at McDonalds on the way.
Thanks to Aunty Deirdre for organising the day and to all those who were able to come. We missed the many great grandchildren who live too far away or were unable to come. Here are a few photos of the fun that was had. Trying to get a group photo of the little people was a bit tricky!

Shopping and a little stitching

My famous last words before I went into AQC were "I don't really need ANYTHING!". Ha Ha! I still managed to buy quite a bit. There were so many lovely shops there and it was just too tempting!
I did buy some patterns.
These lovely frames were too tempting too.
And just a bit of fabric, some buttons and some useful bits and pieces were bought too.

Then... I couldn't resist getting a bit of wool to play with, some from the show and the Noro from Morris and Sons.
Last week I managed to put together this zippered pouch using the houses from an Anni Downs' pattern.
I also finished making the rest of the baubles for the second scarf.

Melbourne

Paddy and I had a wonderful time in Melbourne last week. We flew down on Wednesday and back on Saturday and went primarily to go to the AQC. We also enjoyed some shopping and some delicious meals. Even the weather was perfect. On Wednesday we headed to Chin Chin for lunch. Yum! We also managed to get to Florentinos for a delicious dinner too! Our first stop after lunch was L'uccello and the lovely Japanese shop and button shop nearby.

We spent Thursday at the AQC held in this gorgeous building.

Lovely to see so many familiar faces. There were gorgeous goodies on Kellie Wulfsohn's stall and lovely to catch up with Lynette Anderson and Anni Downs too. They all had lovely things to tempt us as did many of the other stalls.

We did go to one talk by Jane from Bebe Bold and then headed to the quilts later in the day. Lots of photos of some amazing work from all over the world.

Friday was spent enjoying morning tea here and some shopping. In the evening we caught up with some lovely friends of Paddy's for dinner. It was a delightful time away! Hard to get back to normal today!
