Tuesday's show and tell and some celebrations

The Tuesday stitching ladies had a celebration for Christmas this week and brought along yummy morning tea. What a good day to be working. Thanks, ladies. Josie brought along this lovely tea towel she has been stitching. Too beautiful to use!
Sheila brought her beautiful Catherine Wheels quilt in to show. Well done, Sheila.
In the afternoon, it was lovely to see Jill back and here are her gorgeous little stockings she has made. She made them for all her cards. Each person received a stocking with their name on it! Wonderful idea, Jill, though a lot of work!
Yesterday, I went to a lovely lunch with my Thursday Bible study group and we had a wonderful time. We all brought some food to share and it was delicious. We had secret Santa too and I received some Christmas glass baubles to put on wine glasses and I was able to use them in the evening.
Last night, my Wednesday night class girls came here for supper. It was a lovely night of laughter, chat and delicious food. I forgot to take any photos but can share the little gift I made for my Secret Santa. I have so loved making these little bags using the  pattern by Anni Downs. You use rusty wire to make the handle and we just happened to have starry wire at the shop which worked beautifully. I felt very "handy" cutting the wire and using pliers to bend it!!!!
This was my delightful Secret Santa gift (thanks Carol), lovely fabric and a gorgeous star. The other gifts were gorgeous too and now I wish I had thought to take some photos.

Lovely stitching

It was lovely to have our dear friend Paddy back at stitching on Wednesday. She had some great Show and Tell. Paddy is making Leanne Beasley's "Leanne's House" BOM and this is part of one of the blocks. I love the colours she has chosen.
Paddy has also finished some of these little decorations......
and some Bareroots stockings too.
She is also stitching 2 little hangings using the special Christmas block pattern from the "Be Attitudes" Book by Nancy Halverson.
Well done, Paddy, and so lovely to have you back in Canberra.

Gorgeous stitching by the night girls

It was lovely to see all the stitching the "ladies of the night" have been doing. This stitchery is VERY small, measuring about 2" x 1 1/2" and is so beautifully stitched by Audrey. It is a "shrunk" version of a design by Annie Downes.
Carol has been so busy finishing things over the break. Here is her lovely Needle book by Hugs and Kisses.
Here are Carol's finished stockings.....
...and her wonderful nativity hangers by Nancy Halverson. They will look so good on her walls this Christmas.

Works in progress and finished stockings

I have been stitching a little. Here are two bookmarks stitched from Anni Downes' lovely book "The World as it should be". I am stitching her projects ready for my classes in term 4. The book has such lovely projects in it and it gives me the excuse to make them.
Here are my 'almost' finished Bareroots stockings. They are really fun to stitch and easy to make up. Only one left to finish.

More Lovely Stitching

Sue brought in her beautiful Bareroots bag to show us. Her stitching is lovely and the colours work really well. It is such a useful bag.
Judy finished all her Bareroots little stockings and they are so cute! I must try and put the ones I have stitched together too. They will be great gifts.

Judy also made this cute little bear. I think she found the pattern on the internet. She's very cuddly as she is made in flannel.
